I remembered this theme vividly! I hadn't heard it since childhood before they used it again on the DVD set and Boomerang. They only had it for the first 2 seasons of The Flintstones - and not at all when it was syndicated! It was nice to hear the original theme again after so many decades! :)
@OliveOyl125904 жыл бұрын
I thought they only had the theme for a few months. There was a rumor that it sounded like the "Overture" tune from The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show. ABC and Hanna Barbera were afraid Warner Brothers was going to sue them.

@@OliveOyl12590 Both series premiered in the 1960-61 season; the Flintstones on September 30, 1960 and The Bugs Bunny Show 11 nights later, on October 11, 1960. So it really comes down to what was written and composed first.

In point of fact, Warner Bros. threatened to sue Hanna-Barbera for copyright infringement over the original "Flintstones" theme precisely for its similarity to the "This Is It" theme of "The Bugs Bunny Show," which aired on ABC a year before "The Flintstones" made its debut.
