I knew a guy when I was a kid,who was missing half his right foot and the first three toes on his left foot. The trans seized on the launch and the fly wheel came through and chopped his r foot in half and caught the toes on the left. Seems like it was an old International pickup, like from the late 30s early 40s! It had an industrial 427 from a grain truck (Chevy 427). They made power all the way up to like 5000 rpms stock! AWSOME engines. His was souped up to spin about 7500 rpms and the trans obviously wasn't up to it.

I love all of these compilations and even the fails are sometimes funny and heartbreaking (depending on the car but I don't really understand why smh. these are not just cars with big engines, and the competition is not what you think it is. To do a burnout, drivers use modified cars with no rear brakes. They start by engaging the front bakes and flooring the gas simultaneously, shifting up in gears along the way so they can get the tires spinning as fast as possible. The burnouts take place within certain boundaries (which is why they go from the narrow straightaway into the boxed area) , and drivers must keep their car in control and not cross out of the defined competition area. Drivers are expected to keep the wheels spinning for about 90 seconds and then must blow them out and drive out of the competition arena. Cars that don’t blow their tires, or cars that ruin their engines and can’t drive off are penalized. accidents happen in all forms of Motorsport and simple mistakes can lead to bad crashes that cause allot of money... that's just how it is... (yea this rant seems unnecessary but eh whatever)

@absentjake1236 жыл бұрын
Those "modern el caminos" are actually modern versions of the holden and ford utes from the 30's and 40's. Chevy just decided to hop on the bandwaggon of the pickup/utility as they were incredibly popular for tradesmen and farmers at the time.

The mental preparation of a burnout enthusiast. Ok, ive spent 40k making the car pretty, ive spend 80k on charging the shit out of the engine... My masterful game plan will set me apart. 1. Enter arena. 2. begin burnout in a straight line. 3. do a 360 spin on the move. 4. do a burnout on the spot momentarily, before moving off and doing another spin. 5. begin a series of gradual burnout turns. followed by another spin. Produce pointless noise and smoke. When the car is either destroyed by impact or fire, gracefully exit and raise arms in defiant glory. I really, really want to have the adoration of these drunk bogans.
@slickstrings7 жыл бұрын
I could, but somehow i doubt you would understand it.

slickstrings the mental preparation of a KZfaq troll 1. Search for something I have no interest in. 2. Watch video 3. Think to myself hmm what can I write 4. Write something I think will ruffle a few feathers and make me feel empowered. 5. Deal with the heated replies about being an idiot 6. Realise you fucked up 7. Resort to personal insults 8. Go to bed feeling accomplished.
@mattnev86257 жыл бұрын
slickstrings slickstrings my reply was formatted and conveyed exactly the same as yours, so in that case your comment was also aggressive. Yes you pointed out the physical movements of the car. You forgot to mention 1. The merch they sell every event 2. Their sponsors they are representing 3. The prize money for winning 4. Qualifying for the burnout masters at Summernats 5. Building their name and reputation. 6. Traveling around the country competing in all 9 events 7. Putting on a show for the tv coverage. Don't try and back pedal.
@TEQTONYK7 жыл бұрын
slickstrings /r/iamverysmart is that way. You're a fuckin idiot. This is what happens when burnouts go bad. It's not ''When burnouts go bad all the time because I don't understand other cultures". Watch any Australian burnout competition & you'll see that these guys have some amazing car control. Yes, sometimes it goes bad but could you always control 2000hp at full throttle whilst doing this? I think not. Nobody beats Aussies when it comes to burnouts. We love them.
@slickstrings7 жыл бұрын
Teq, i didnt think i needed to qualify it, but i am australian. Burnouts are nothing new to me and certainly nothing special, and absolutely nothing sacred, hence why i feel fine about poking fun at it. Especially when predictably people like you get sand up your skirt about it and jump up to its defense by saying 'these guys have amazing car control'. They dont. They have good car control, but its nothing compared to actual high speed racing, and it Doesnt make it any less stupid. Its people spending enormous money producing cars that perform no function other than to make brainless noise and smoke to get a rise out of lets face it, shazzas and dazzas, and they all effectively do exactly the same thing. Its the motorsport equivalent of lady gaga audience. The fans dont dare think about why they like it, because they might realise the music is crap, and what they are actually watching is a woman wearing a suit made of meat. Probably the funniest thing is when guys like you read my joke, rather than saying, ha! he's got a point, and moving on with your life, you jump up and try to claim burnout comps have more credibility than they do.
