Thank you for this I learned how to do basic bracelets when I was a teenager (long, long time ago). I was so bored of the same diagonal pattern I never did them again till I've been in the house with nothing to do. Thought I'd start doing them again had no clue there were so many different things you could do...

Would it work to just do backwards knots after doing forward knots for each row? Instead of flipping the bracelet, just do backwards knots to get the string back to the other side?

How do I know the length of the threads that I need to use? Because I had made a bracelet following the pattern but I ran out of thread before I finished the bracelet and sometimes I cut the thread longer and I use less than that so I end up waisting a lot of thread

When I first tried this pattern I doubled the strings. So it would be 2 strings of each color, do forward knots with the first string then the same with the second then flip and do both strings ect.

I have a question... So I did this bracelet months ago and loved it so I decided to do it again and thought I remembered it come on flip flop... But I realized there same color kept coming up every time and realized there must be a time you don't flip it to change colors to I came back to this.... My question is does it have to be every third one? Did you make that up or is that the way it's supposed to be done could you do 4,5 or 6? Have you ever tried that! I wonder if it would come out stupid looking.....

No, as you flip the bracelet because the backside of a knot looks different. A backward knot would not produce the same effect, it would essentially be a candy stripe.

This is a stupid question. But instead of flip flopping it could you not do a row of forward knots and then do a row of backward knots?

Not at all, it's a very valid question. The reason for the flip flopping is to get the desired texture. The back of the knot looks different than the front of the knot. A backward knot and a forward knot look the same, they just move the string you're knotting with either from the left to the right(forward knot) or the right to the left(backward knot).

i love this bracelet, but it is so string consuming!! my strings got super short super fast and be sure to cut your strings a little longer than normal.

I think you're trying to get how the back of the knot looks....when u do a regular candy stripe the back looks different (kind of smooth)
