I hate the way Illustrator is so clumsy when you need to do something quite simple. Why isn't there simply an option in text setting box?

Better way of doing it is: 1. Select your object 2. Go to menu Type > Type on Path > Type on Path Options. 3. In the box that opens up, you can choose from Align to Path > Descender, Ascender, Center or Baseline. There also other options there you can play with.

What I love about Illustrator is that it makes things easy. What I don't like, is that there are so many things you can do, sometimes the simplest thing you want to do, is not so simple. Awesome tutorial. Thanks.

Well how do I do it so that the text wraps around the top of the bottom text?! So that way both texts are outside of the original circle? This way isn’t centered

• create a shape you want text on (circle, square, polygon) • select "Type on Path" tool & click on that shape you made & type your stuff • select "Selection Tool" (V) & click on that typed shape • you'll see 3 perpendicular lines that you can click and drag - the right and left adjust space for text - the center... - - can be dragged around to move orientation of entire text space - - can be dragged to the inside of the shape to flip text

How do you get the bars to show? mine don't show up

This is a great start. But usually, the bottom text needs also to sit on the outside of the same circle, not the inside as you have shown. I suppose this requires drawing another circle to accommodate this placement. Or, perhaps that duplicate circle can be enlarged to where the letters are sitting in the same position (outside the circle).

So cool! What I noticed is that then the text is on a circle that is too small, right? And when I change the size of the circle, the text goes crazy big! How do I stop that from happening?
