@@FlippedLifestyle consider what the goal for the result is. It should be for your daughter to learn as much as possible, not for you to do the project for her and it work on the first try. She would have learned far more if she came up with her own ideas and tested them, and then saw what worked and what didn't. This would be a good opportunity for you to teach her some of the physics concepts that you seem to have at least some knowledge of. I was particularly disturbed that she wanted to do a parachute, and was quite excited about it-but her idea was quickly dismissed and she no longer seemed as excited about the project and directed her focus on other things. The thing is, a parachute is actually what many people consider to be the best way to do an egg drop. I am sure she would have come up with a solution to cushion the landing, and it might have a similar result to what you came up with. Note: this comment is not to take away from you as a person, as you seem like a cool guy, but I feel this situation could have been handled better

But thanks for your unsolicited advice, clearly given without having all of the facts. ;) This video was to have fun and show A way to fix an egg, not a request for parenting advice. PS: Our egg didn't break, the parachute one did. lol.
