As much as I think, from what has come out about Hansforth, that bullying is rife in the council I struggle to see what happened here as bullying. The old guys thought she didnt have authority to lead the meeting, as she isnt on the parish council, so they kicked off. Social media has just decided that the narrative should be 'woman stands up to bullies' so people are jumping on that. Dont get me wrong, I am not on the side of Brian or Aled, I actually think they should be made to resign for their conduct here and more generally. I just think the bullying narrative might be a lazy interpretation of the infamous zoom call.

@@TheJthom9 she wasn't breaking the law. The meeting HAD been called legally and she had been sent to supervise the meeting because of reports that this parish council were out of control. LBC radio had a lawyer comment on the situation.

@@osr4152 Well certain members of the council, eg Aled and Brian had definitely got far too big for their boots and thought they could control everything. And this had evidently been going on for a while. But they met their match in Jackie; she wasn't going to put up with their nonsense.

Actually, it’s thanks to your mum I’ve now discovered the terrific Flo and Joan - oh and a couple of very funny chaps who go by the name of “Isolation Creations” who also do a nice little tribute to Handforthgate . They do a lovely line in vintage Coronation Street spoofs too- all done in the spirit of good natured affection and well worth a look! 😁
