FLOATING HIDE CANON R7 RF200800 4K
4 a.m. it's time to get up, 4:45 a.m. departure to arrive on site around 5 a.m.
After 20 minutes of walking with the 13 kilo floating mount to carry and a bag with the Canon R7 and the RF200-800 it is time to install everything.
Then you have to swim about 100 meters to reach the middle of the pond of several hectares in surface area because it is here that life is mainly organized.
Then you have to stay on your knees for a few hours with sometimes sand, sometimes mud or sometimes pebbles... Who prefers sand... -)
The light is having difficulty breaking through the clouds, the first showers are arriving.
You have to go up in ISO and wait, photographing and taking videos in the early hours of the day in these conditions is not easy.
But what a spectacle, the physical fatigue, the cramps and the occasional pain are quickly forgotten.
I approach a pair of stilts meter by meter, crawling on my knees, so that I can observe them for a while, just listening to their song is a delight.
There is a territorial dispute behind me between black-headed gulls and common terns in the distance a King Fisher stops for a moment to observe.
Several redshanks are looking for something to eat, they are lively and observing them is a real pleasure.
After about 4h30 spent in the water it is time to return, on the way back, with fatigue, the 20 minutes carrying the floating hide take on yet another dimension but regardless I leave with a heart full of wonderful memories and filled with gratitude.
