Judo Olympian and jiu-jitsu black belt Travis Stevens could easily have been a wrestler, baseball player or football player. But for him, only one sport was worth playing. Find out why.

It's like there is a thumb-sized newborn baby in his ear. I couldn't take my eye off of it 😅.

Interesting talk but the acoustics of your room are terrible for recordings, don't you think?

I agree enough, but, to argue that judo produces naturally more aggressive athletes is the real ludicrous statement here to me 😂 I wrestled and didn’t do judo but did do BJJ for a bit and while I’d definitely agree BJJ guys are pretty lax and the one judoka I rolled with was more serious and had an iron grip, I wouldn’t say he was particularly hard to roll with. He was a black belt and I just had some high school wrestling under my belt. The real dangerous people to me were the other wrestlers honestly. I respect the hell out of Travis as an athlete, I honestly have no idea if he wrestled in high school or not, but he’s arrogant.

Nah, American Judo isn’t the standard for Judo. You want intense physicality from a judoka? You gotta roll with guys from countries like Georgia 🇬🇪 Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 Armenia 🇦🇲 Mongolia 🇲🇳 Brazil 🇧🇷 Israel 🇮🇱 Cuba 🇨🇺 Russia 🇷🇺 Ukraine 🇺🇦 etc them boys will fuck you up big time because for one, that’s where most of the high level Judo is at but also secondly, wrestling is very popular in all of those countries as well so essentially, they can go tit for tat with you on pure wrestling PLUS having very good Judo, etc and I’m not talking about you being a hobbyist fighting someone who competes on the international circuit I’m talking about you fighting a hobbyist who also comes from one of these countries. An honorable mention would be Japan 🇯🇵 France 🇫🇷 South Korea 🇰🇷 England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 but those aren’t really strong wrestling nations tho Japan has been on a incline of success in wrestling recently

well... because you were good at a fight against a judoka doesn't mean that wretsling is better, hell I wrestled so many competetive wrestlers as a judoka and beat them. its like saying Russia is bad because it has criminals, you can't judge 100% of the population based on a tiny fraction and most schools in the modern world in US or Europe don't teach Old Judo which contains neWaza( ground work ) only tachiwaza, the teach sports judo, go face a real judoka and he'll toss you with the ground

@@AusarisTV japan has a good wrestling culture. And i would say now a days the Japanese are just as physical as the europeans because they saw how physical the europeans were and they started training for strength and along with their outstanding technique so they could compete with germany france russia mongolia etc.

Once again, an American who thinks their country is the only one who exists in the world so whatever they’re good at must reign supreme. The US is 30 in the world for judo. Go against anybody who does judo COMPETITIVELY from any country in the top 10 list and see how it goes. You dumb, ignorant (and arrogant) Americans need to be humbled.

Makes absolutely zero sense but carry on. "I get to physically gab another human and beat them" - as long as it's above the waist 🤣🤣🤣
