I have the deepest respect for Gordon and Vagner, I just don't see this working out in Vagner's direction. I think if they grappled 100 times in 2021, Gordon would win 99 or 100. Gordon is the best grappler we have ever seen, no one should doubt him after the Diniz performance. I admire Vagner's balls for sure, but where is Vagner better? Vagner's second best shot is to stall on top/defend leg locks: but to what end? This isn't EBI overtime rules, Gordon won't let him keep top position, his sweeps and scrambles are too good: as we seen in their EBI match. Vagner's BEST SHOT is to stall in certain positions, somehow avoid an extended mount and edge out a close, close decision because judges take into account size. Prediction: Gordon by top side triangle after an extended mount, something Gordon can break down on a flograppling/bjjfanatics video step by step. Looking forward to it!

Vagner beating Gordon is long shot at best. Just watch his match against Tye Routolo. Tye was a160#'s at the most during their match. Also, he only beat Junior by decision. Gordon is going to be way more powerful and looking for subs straight away. Vagner has a huge challenge in front of him. This fight will be interesting thats for sure, and hopefully drama free.

It’s not what you get, it’s what you give. I see one competitor absorbed by himself and what he can do. I see another teaching children and adults and helping them grow in the sport. They’re both high level grapplers w their own personal flaws like all of us but I know who I’d choose to hang out with after we trained.
