Hey Guys, I was able to get out to The Delaware water gap National Recreation Area the other day to get on The McDade Trail. We had some extreme rain a few days before this adventure and some of the trail was washed out. I ended up missing a trail sign and riding a few miles out of my way down to the flooded Delaware River. After finding the trail and continuing on Thru a few more high water bypasses, I decided to throw in the towel and save The McDade for another day. Getting back to the truck proved to be a bit tricky, with closed roads gated off, glad I didn't have to deal with that after the 80 mile day I had planned on. Anyway, I will be back to The Mcdade another time, thanks for staying tuned everybody.

In my hood. Nice to see you so close to DWG, the town. I like this little trail. Saturday was supposed to be the annual "Bike and Brew" from Shawnee Craft brewery. Cancelled due to flooding.

It's good to go on trail under 40km and back. Area looks awesome. From standpoint as tourist and physical fitness enthusiast, it looks fit.

Big waters! I rode that trail at harvest time and it was gorgeous. Definitely got some unexpected steep hills. I’m sticking to the streets this week. It’s crazy on the trails. The D&L at the Black Bass is completely submerged. You can’t even see it. Stay dry man

Loved the video, all the false turns, nothing going to expectations on the trail. Impressed with the drone footage while riding, how do you even manage to operate the drone, I’d end up in the river 😆

It’s a great trail, I’d love to do it end to end eventually. The drone can be a little tricky from time to time.

We have had some tremendous rain and the tributaries feeding The Delaware were really the cause of all the flooding. I would say flooding in spring is common.

Down that gravel slope one hand on the bars with the camera stick in the other looked super sketch. I think my shoulder separated just by watching.

Watch as Traveling Thru rides on water at 4:52. The miracle has to be real, because I saw it on a video. Thanks for the update. Very well marked trail otherwise. Unfortunate that the high water got in the way. The crepuscular kitty in contemplation at the front of the bus.

Miracle worker, or rider I guess. It’s a great trail. I breezed right on by a well marked turn. Bumski, made it all the way down to the river, however I did find my long lost pair of jockeys.

Good decision to abort, TT. I've encountered similar flood events when my spirit was gung-ho but reason set in and told me otherwise. When there's lots of sign of flooding as you encountered, I'd turn around, too. Don't want to end up leaving your undies like someone else did. I bet you enjoyed the ride back. Thanks for a fun video.

I've been meaning to do the whole McDade trail myself, i've only done the first few miles so fare. You might want to try the Paulinskill Valley trail, it's about 10 miles south in New Jersey, there is an interesting 115 ft tall Viaduct close by. Also the Columbia trail in Highbridge is good. You don't happen to know Mario Nepali from Bangor PA do you? You remind me of him (We work together)

McDade is still on the list. Ive been meaning to get over to the Paulinskill for a while now, I did it a few years ago. I don’t know that Bangor fella, but he sounds like a cool guy. Catch you on the trail.
