Floodwater surrounds Gloucestershire's Tewkesbury Abbey in stunning drone footage

Drone footage has captured stunning scenes of Tewkesbury Abbey surrounded by floodwater.
The Norman Abbey, built nearly 1,000 years ago, sits on slightly raised ground which protected it from the worst of the flood.
Tewkesbury, which lies on the River Severn, has seen sporadic flooding over the years.

I'm very fond of Tewkesbury Abbey. Consecrated I think in 1121, most of that building is still there, with a 14th century Choir inserted. It had to be reconsecrated in 1471 after the Battle of Tewkesbury took place within its walls. Important nobles are buried there, including some who perished in unfortunate ways!

The music is fine, I live in the area, people are used to the floods, it happens regularly and generally most people take little notice of them, locals are bemused by the interest of others in the flooding. The last time it was really bad was in 2007 when not only was a large area flooded the water works at Tewkesbury was flooded and had to be shut down causing no mains water for a huge area for several weeks, Also power station at Gloucester was inches away from flooding which would have caused disaster for a large area of Gloucestershire.

I work on the Avon and have just been to Tewkesbury this is old footage from 2007 some of the buildings in this footage are different now especially the mill which is very different and new ones that have been put up since are not showing noticeably the building site not far from the mill. Why are they doing this. its fake news. yes the rivers high but that's normal but I think someone needs check where they get there footage from

Also my uncle stays now in england, If you ask me what you can do about this , And I got the photo with the car in my phone, Is very simple , Employ someone to shut them in the had and I will stop flooding UK.

It's not normal. The idiots nearly built a site in Tewkesbury that floods. Since time began. Building all over in flood plain and more and more planed

This is thanks to caylus cunningham, kiera bridget and also Because of my uncle: SANDU my mothers brother and suprise also thanks to Prince wiliam All of them try to end me , Theyve send Yesterday the UPS money car behinde the shelter ( carusel ) where I go every day in bucharest sector 1 Theyve payed the boss and the personal and even the homeless romanians to Bull me in the shelter .
