Usually I'm not a fan of music over work shots, because I enjoy the "work noises", but you picked some very nice and chill tunes. Interesting how a few (mostly) straight metal panels suddenly make it look so much more complete. Vroom-vroom noises next episode then!

Another great video, at least this individual likes the long format with details on how you actually did stuff. I will eventually get back to my Lotus Europa project leveraging many new ideas you have inspired!

Clever Trevor! Reminds me of using a mangle and tub - outside in the yard! - on washdays when I were a lad. 😁 You wouldn't fit in a Ka, Oliver. I'm 6'4" and couldn't operate the clutch when I looked at getting one.

You and your dad are physically creating history and inspiring others, you don’t need a fancy shop with high tech tools to creat your dream. You guys are true fabricators.

Should be getting back my old Dutton Melos, the old Ford 1300Gt crossflow engine is toast, so, putting a twin cam 16 valve Ford 1.8L Zetec and 5 speed Ford Sierra gearbox in it, should be about the same or lighter than its original 550Kg. Love the work that youre doing.

Such a great project, and being done with just basic tools an equipment. That would have to be the neatest seam sealing I’ve ever seen. You have a fantastic relationship with your father, which I’m rather envious of. And your father is very talented and knowledgeable. Keep up the great work, I came in late but I’m here to stay. Sorry for your loss, your gran is at peace now.

Great progress! I know you are (quite rightly) obsessed about weight, but it would be comforting to see the chassis galvanised or perhaps hot zinc sprayed or similar, that thin steel looks very vulnerable. What are your plans in that regard?

I have only just found this channel. What you are doing here is quite extraordinary - amazing work. I completely get your enthusiasm for lightweight sportscars. Nothing could quite compare with the Mosquito, but I owned a couple of 2CVs way back in the late seventies and seeing them here really brought back some fond memories of those glorious little cars.

A big lump of progress there lads!! I love the way the further into these videos you go the more shambolic the mounting plinth becomes, but the table with minuscule casters is my fav so far :) Also loving your dads watch collection, think I spotted three in the last video too.

Just when I get burned out on all the trash and politics on the internet, along comes another installment of the 'Mosquito' build and I realize what vast potential for education/entertainment and making the world a more harmonious place the internet offers. The fact that I can sit here at home on the east coast of the US and follow along from half a world away still just bows my mind. I've built a few hot rods as a hobbyist, but still have learned soooo much from your detailed presentation. I hope you have plans for another car when this one is done. "Can't wait to see you guys drive this; it should be an absolute ripper!

Before moving to Germany 11 years ago the last 18 months in the UK every weekend was spent with my dad rebuilding a 4.0 V8 Landy 90 (was a Turbo diesel..pre TDi). Great times until the rotten Defender started to fight back and drained every penny I had. So much rot. Only original parts was the Chassis, wiring and bulkhead (the irony of that!).

when you say that a mid engine car needs rake, could that be built into the suspension design by raising or lowering the suspension mounts at one end or the other while still keeping the body level?

Your ground clearance is to high to get ground effect, that is not the same as not being able to create down force with underfloor air flow.

I just don't understand why there is a need to use a perfectly preserved antique handmade table? Is it really impossible to use something less valuable than to treat the work of the ancestral masters so barbarously? This is some kind of ignorance... by creating one thing, kill the other!
