We're in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam! Our plan today is to start in the Old Quarter and then venture out to West Lake, one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas in Hanoi. In between, we'll enjoy some Vietnamese coffee, banh mi, chance upon the best pho we've had so far and do a little sight seeing along the way. Come join us for a super fun day out in Hanoi!

I personally love it when the weather isn't always sunny and "perfect" for things like the "duck" boat. 😁 I think the rain adds a bit of intimacy and adventure to the whole experience. I would have stayed out paddling in that rain just listening to it fall on the lake.

We were in Hanoi just before the lockdown. Brought back fond memories. ☺️ There was a day we had too much of that strong coffee and our hearts were beating so fast and we were up all night.

1:40 here's a tip for filter coffee, open the lid to see if there's any water left and place the lid at the bottom of the filter when you set it down so it won't drip out.

Love the vid guys! The Viet coffee is often very high in caffeine that (equal double or triple espresso shots) even though been drinking it all my life I haven't build up the tolerant to down it like Note did lol. 13:50 the Chinese name sounds 90% similar to how Viet call it "giò cháo quẩy" since a lot of Vietnamese words have Chinese or French origin due to our history.

Notice the pho in the north vs the south. Even the noodles are different. One is larger and one is thinner. You also get more vegetables in the south / central vietnam. The north makes their pho a little bland shile the central/ south makes it more saltier / sweeter.

lol Her Beef Stew looks much more delicous! it seems like they don't specialize Pho there though and it's still the best simmerring for hours with all theherbs very therapeutic. Noticing you were driving holding/watching your phone, street walking vendors sell items to mount & unmount your phone on the bike. Sometimes the best food are the one that are hidden. When I see tourist eating places that are not recommended by other tourist or youtuber, I feel happy because sometimes the food in Vietnam taste the best when it’s in a corner, in deep alley, or not well known to other foreigners. When I see many foreigners and traveller eating at the same place, drinking coffee at the same spot, they are not experiencing other food stall that offer better food and experience.

I’ll never return to ietnam. I was there for about 18 months during the conflict. Yes I also had very good friend who was POW at Hanoi prison 6 3/4 years.😢 but the photo you are sharing are very nice. Thank you. No am not bitter. I was unarmed when flying and the planes I flew were unarmed.😊
