its the way the stay on their toes and shift right around on defense right in the face of the other team. Thats something thats coached in college. These guys are really well coached. Especially the guards. Yea sure watch them shoot… but watch them fall into a shell and bounce on their heels and not give the other team space in transition. these dudes are forreal! Final four i can see it! They play at that level. Not a fluke

I could understand if they could actually shoot, but these guys couldn't...yet they kept jackin' it up while FAU kept making FTs to extend their lead one or two points at a time. When will everyone learn in this day and age of basketball, that the 3 pointer is like rolling dice or spinning the roulette wheels...the percentages are against you. Unless you're a Klay or Steph...

Way too much emphasis on Quad this and Quad that. Not enough emphasis on WINNING games. This team learned how to win. Meanwhile, North Texas and UAB--excluded from the field because they didn't win enough against FAU in Conference USA--are in the NIT Final Four.

I get that strength of schedule has to stand for something but I agree. However, like Gonzaga, FAU has to prove it for a couple years before they get seeded higher. Gonzaga, based on their conference, should not reach a 1 seed but they have. FAU, based on conference, shouldn't. But if they consistently have great seasons and get far, you'll start seeing them as a 5,4,3 and who knows.

Perhaps it just was not "in the cards" or "in the stars" for Tennessee: Tennessee ranked #4, FAU ranked #9 (4+9=13); Tennessee won by 13 against Duke 65-52 (both multiples of 13) and, of course, the point total is 117, also a multiple of 13; Tennessee lost to FAU 62-55 (the point total again is 117, a multiple of 13); Though Tennessee has had a few attempts to get to the Elite Eight since 2010, it has been 13 years since their one and still only EE appearance!!

You also forgot to mention the Arkansas and Ucon game. The last digits of the final score equaled 13. Also, at each time that :13 appeared on the clock, a play was made. Add the numbers 1 and 3 (13) and at that exact moment there were teams playing.

I always say Team Chemistry is the most important factor. Doesn't matter the seed. A Team that all believes in one another and trusts them completely is a formidable foe. One weak link in the chain will completely shatter the whole thing. FAU chemistry is on point. Milwaukee showed everyone what that means in 2021.

North Texas and UAB from conference usa are both easily good enough to be in the tournament. They need to give the mid majors more of a chance, as a Iowa fan, the big 10 is highly overrated and some of these smaller schools need tournament appearances.

I know it's weird to mention arena sizes but I gotta mention it. Tennessee has a 21,000 seat arena and 1 elite 8 appearance FAU has a 2,900 seat arena and as just as Many elite 8 appearances as Tennessee March madness is amazing, and being from South Florida, GO OWLS, BEAT K-STATE

Good run FAU but if they have no answer for that Magic Johnson -esque guard for K-State it will be their last game. That guard has ridiculous court vision and can hit the 3 ball when needed. Props to FAU though. Tennessee looked stoic in the 2nd half and didn't pull away when they had a chance too...

I have FLAT at 40-1 to make the final four and already locked in a hedge to ensure a hefty profit. Love this squad: they're better conditioned and spread the load which is fatal to teams as the game wears on. Also have them at 50-1 to win it all replacing the 200-1 I had taken earlier and cashed out. Took N-TX to win the NIT as they're also C-USA and even UAB is still alive there all three belonged in this one. FLAT is deadly.

I know Florida Atlantic only beat a FDU by like 7 but even though they were 31-3 coming into the tourney, I didn't believe their high metrics like KenPom etc coming in but this team is actually really good. They played like trash in the 1st half, 9 turnovers in like the first 10 minutes, and they never got engulfed by that. This is a very-well coached team. Nice to see the former UConn guy Gaffney here too. Never knew he was here.

We think that every year, because we're fans. We've only ever made one elite eight and have been to nothing beyond that. Yet we're still going to support them every year like they might, same as most other teams. We hoped, but expectations were pretty low really given our history in the dance. We're pretty inconsistent year in and year out. Dominant in some stretches and then we hit a game where we just don't play well at all or can't make any shots. It's fine really, FAU is a good team and there is a reason they are in the final four. Not sure why some people think we're that different from other schools across the country.

Would have loved to see J. Davis put up at least 22 in this one. He has a bounce like a young Jordan. Watch his videos and compare his bounce. Not his shot, his speed and silky bounce like mj had in unc.

So does Rick Barnes get fired now? There's no way his team should have lost that game. Hats off to FAU but the Vols team I saw last weekend would've won this game. Where was that smothering defense they had vs. Duke?? Sad.

Probably not, though some people will want him gone. But the reality of our men's program is we've been to one elite eight, that's it. Doesn't matter if it's Barnes or any of our previous coaches.
