We have traveled south to the Gulf of Mexico. Cody is trying his hand at surf fishing for a Florida catch and cook. Cody and his new buddies catch four pompano. They filet two and keep the others whole. Kellie prepares an amazing five star meal!

One of the best episodes I've watched of you guys and I've been watching since the beginning. The excitement you guys shown when you had a pompano on the line is hard to beat! I've never caught one myself but I've caught plenty of different freshwater species and definitely can relate! I'm a Texan but my family usually takes a trip to Navarre beach every summer (which was right down the road from where yall were at). If yall get a chance I'd definitely recommend going to Navarre beach for a day or two (or the Navarre pier). You can rent kayaks, paddle boards and other neat things to explore either on land or the Gulf. I highly recommend Sage Paddle Company in Navarre beach for renting. Family owned and the best customer service you'll find! That was a very cool moment while cleaning the fish and some fans stopped by to say they watch you guys all the time.

That fish dinner looks awesome! One reason it tastes so good is its fresh out of the ocean and hasn't been in the frig. With the one you have in the freezer.. if you're brave enough. Try a small piece Raw (sushi) with some lemon juice. It's awesome! Thanks again for another great video

How cool of a day that was for you Cody! You and your newfound friends were like kids on Christmas morning! 😂 Loved it! Pompano appears to be a white fish and I like white fish. Probably why I love, love Halibut. My FAVORITE white fish! I don't think you can compare Halibut to pompano, but I'm partial so I'd probably choose Halibut 😊 But that Pompano is a fish I will definitely have to try next time I'm in Florida. Thanks for sharing guys!

Nice fishing on the beach welcome back to Florida guys. It is actually very dangerous and in some states illegal to ride in your type of camper. Your safer in the truck if there was to be an accident.

I remember my first trip to Dauphin Island, AL... I caught a fish that I couldn't identify but I kept it anyway. An older gent came walking by and asked me if I was having any luck. I pointed at the the bucket and said "yeah, I caught that..." He said "Oh! That's a Pompano! Those are good eating!" Well we ate that fish and loved every bite. Now we are about to take our third trip to Dauphin Island next week and I can't wait to catch and cook some more. Great job on the catch and cook video y'all! 😄

We live in Pensacola. I always especially love your Pensacola videos! It would be cool to run into y’all one day. We love fishing at Fort Pickens, but usually fish for redfish, sheepshead and mangrove snapper on the sound side. All are delicious fish. I’ve never actually caught or tasted pompano after 23 years in Pensacola, but I’m going to try next time I go to the beach….hopefully this weekend! Y’all would love Gulf State Park in Orange Beach; however, Pensacola beaches are slightly prettier IMO.
