I live here and there's so many mistakes here. This chase started on 275 Northbound on the Pinellas County/St Pete side right before the long bridge to Tampa across the bay. If this dude lives here, he knew his next exit wasn't for 7+ miles, plus this bridge is notorious for very heavy traffic during the daytime. Really, really stupid idea to run. He then gets to the Hillsborough County/Tampa side and takes the worst exit possible (Lois Ave) when he could have easily taken the first exit (Kennedy) and you'd have a ton of options - U turn back onto the bridge Southbound, Memorial Hwy, try to dip in the airport etc. Once you miss Kennedy he should have committed to at least the downtown exit, then you can either try to rip through downtown to the Selmon or continue on to I4 (or even stay on 275N). Basically - this dude did NOT know his roads. My guess is that this dude didn't know that FHP chases here. Local cops will not. He's probably done this and gotten away with it from local cops, but FHP doesn't mess around.

90% of the drivers in this video should have their licenses removed. How you don't notice a loud car with flashing LED lights on top is beyond me.

So let’s do the math, top speed for a HC is about 200mph, FHP top speed about 150(5.7 hemi ). Now if he would’ve just taken off, the officer would have zero chance in catching. However, they’ll catch up to him later because of the license plate 🤷🏽‍♂️

The disadvantage of being chased by a police officer is, he’s following you, and he has lights to where people move out of his way so you’re the one that has to dodge most of the traffic and make most of the driving decisions, he’s following what you have already cleared out of the way and then being chased on the highway a 20 to 30 mile an hour gap he can still keep the eye contact with you if he’s maxed out at 150 and you’re just doing 170 so you would have to get up to speed of 200 mile an hour and have a 1 mile gap in daylight to lose him. That’s why these police officers they get up to speed as fast as they can to keep the gap as narrow as possible.

If you knew about Tampa traffic, you’d know he got off the highway at that point because it often slows dramatically or comes to a dead stop just ahead. It’s heading toward downtown and traffic is thick in that area at all times of the day. So he got off on to surface streets to avoid the congestion and maybe hide on a side street for a while. There are also shopping centers nearby with parking garages to hide in.

If the cop’s speed was being shown it would give a much better perspective on how fast 700-800hp really is compared to 370-390hp! A cop car’s RT drivetrain is no slouch at all, and that Charger just walked away. Unreal.
