We had an awesome week at camp with the boys from Back 2 Basics Adventures!! I'm so glad I was able to shoot my new 80X Cheetah and harvest dinner afterwards! Even though so many things went wrong, we made the best out of it and came out on top.. Even the Pygmy rattlesnake found itself a better home thanks to a little relocating!

My wife and I have been married since Dec. 2000. I took her to the driving range and I was trying to teach her how to golf. It about ended our marriage. And then she had the best drive of the day and we both look up and see the head of the driver hanging from fiberglass splinters. I got some teasing mileage out of that but we've never been back to the range together. If you stop laughing together, that's a bad sign. You two seem to enjoy each other's company a ton and you know your boundaries. lol

I hunted squirrels with my wife once when we were newlyweds. Notice that I said "once". Once was enough. She cried crocodile tears when I popped one out of a tree. I told her beforehand that I was out to get meat. I guess she thought I was bluffing. We've been married 31 years now and I still hunt alone. But I've slowed down a bit since then. She doesn't like that I go out alone. But I've always been a lone wolf about hunting. There is true peace. Sometimes, I hope nothing comes by just so I can enjoy the peace.

Sarah ! Now this video hits one of your top one's for me. You had new friend's hunting, you had break downs that really happens at camps, you had fun times at camp. You had gas in Rob truck and not Diesel. Lol. Out hunting and the buggy broke. We got boar, gators. New friends feel like home for them. The kids found a turtle. I mean it was a good video. Hey Sarah. We need to convince Rob to take the family to Australia. You could take the girls to Australia Zoo and meet Steve Irwin's family. I can see you and Terri Irwin getting along great. Bindi Irwin could take the girls on a tour of entire zoo. It would make a great DeerMom video.

Rob runs out of gas late at night in the buggy. Gas in the diesel truck. Buggy won’t start. Steering arm breaks on a buggy. Your “corn slinging” still needs tweaking. It pours rain on you at night when hunting. Rattle snake near the cabin. Big cooking mess at the end of the night. And your still smiling. 😁 Gods blessings to you and yours. For clarification, gopher tortoises are state protected species, not endangered.

They aren't even federally protected in Florida, they're protected by the state and federally protected in Alabama.

I looked into it because I didn’t know and they used to be endangered but came off of the list in 2022. It’s still a protected tortoise however 🐢

@@DeerMom It is good to hear that they came off the endangered list. I also live down here on the treasure coast (Jensen) and there are many tortoise dens. We have 3 in our back lot and they roam around our yard often. :)

Great video! Just a couple of issues. First, where the heck was Fran??? She should have been there. Second, the FWC may have issues with the gopher tortoise section. I might cut part of it out.

#1 that is a decent sized pygmy. Good job educating your viewers on not killing venomous snakes. #2 the gopher tortoise is protected state wide due to the habitat loss and the fact it is a keystone species (as is the alligator). Don't toss them in the water, they will drown. Also, they are not supposed to be handled unless you are saving it from danger, like in the middle of the road. Love the videos.

I do landscaping and any time my crew finds a snake they call me because they are scared of them I identify them and proceed to collect the snake and move them to another area away from the property so we can finish working 😂😂😂😂

Oh Sarah I know exactly what you are talking about, "LEAVE the husband home and go hunt by yourself. My hubs hates getting up early and I am out sitting as early as allowed. I go turkey hunting and will call him & tell him to get his butt at such and such place cause I have them coming in. We don't have hogs here in ME. but deer, turkeys are my main goal. Go get them girl, you got this.

I miss Jupiter so much! I wish I had met you guys when I lived there in the farms (2007-2009). But God called me elsewhere. Wow, Jack looked a little sad and lost without Fran. Believe me, I would be too. 🙂
