This brings back memories of staying there in 2022 - Feb for New York and again in October for Orlando. We’ll be booking again for our next Orlando trip. As we’re flying first class (for the first time ever, squee), I don;t think the upgrade to club would be worth it for us that time, though.

I stayed there in 2016 2019 and this coming September 2024. I really love this hotel. It smells amazing too!

I love the Renaissance. Especially the smell they pump into the lobby. I ask what air freshener it is every time we stay but they won't tell us. The runway rooms are brilliant, way better than any other hotel room on Bath Road.

I always enjoying watching pre-travel days. Here in Australia you just arrive at the airport a few hours before your flight - even at Sydney airport the traffic is not so bad you need to stay overnight unless you have an early morning flight. But it's such a part of the holiday for you Brits 🙂. Sorry to hear about problems with the buyer - hope it all got sorted out easily and with not too much stress. We''re currently in the cool off period with our buyer.

We like arriving the day early to get the trip started. We are only 30mins away from Heathrow, but I worked there for years and at times it's taken 3hrs. Good luck with your house x

We choose our airport hotel depending on whos travelling and price. We are loyalty club members so that sometimes has advantages. The Aerotel was great for a bed for the night without having to come in from the perimeter road. We have stayed on the A4 at the Ibis which was on the public bus route and used that to get into the airport. There was a bowling alley near that hotel so for overnight stay that was a way of entertaining excited teenagers

Hi, same for us really. Premier Inn has always been such a great price and travelling with family it's been perfect. But this time, just the 2 of us and Premier Inn was really pricey, so we thought we'd try something different. I've never known anyone stay at the Aerotel before. What was it like? x

Your trip sounds exciting. We hope you'll enjoy the hotel. It has a lovely atmosphere. Check the stuffiness of the room when you arrive. I wonder if certain parts of the hotel are newer than others? November you will hopefully be good though as it's colder anyway xx

Yep! Agree about the premier in. Last time we were there, I could barely sleep at all. The odd time I have gone to a newer one with aircon, it’s been good. But like you say… sometimes that doesn’t work either. Looks like you flew in exactly a week before us!! X

Courtyard Marriott Bath Road. Two rooftop bars / restaurants with outdoor terrace overlooking the runway and usually around £120 a night.

I stayed here last year September. I booked the Runway Room and loved it. I have since than travelled twice with Virgin, which is my preferred airline but only living 20 mins away. I am spoilt. I do prefer Virgin at Gatwick, where I use to stay religiously at Premier Inn North Terminal. Thanks Ade and Lisa for your videos. I love watching them. 🥰

Hotel looks nice. We’re going to visit family in LA at end of October & staying at hotel in Bath road the night before. We do love a pre travel day 😀. Hope everything is ok with the sale of your house & no more problems with your move 😁🤞

Yes really reminded me of the dreaded Covid times and u staying there I remember being so jealous!!!!! Would you mind me asking how much you paid for your executive lounge package? And who u booked it through …We are flying from Heathrow next year but just to give me a rough idea… would really appreciate that xx

Hi Emma. It was £199 for the package. I booked it through my own travel agents. That was the actual cost, not a reduced rate x

We always stay at The Hilton Garden hotel at Heathrow (£177) and restaurant good and it’s an easy walk to the terminal. To us the hotel on pre travel day is to stop the anxiety of the traffic on the day of the flight for us.

We've stayed there before too, but it's always so much more expensive since we stayed in 2021. For this trip it was over £300.

Flying back to Blighty in January. Unfortunately the price difference between this hotel and Premier Inn is significant. Don't think I've ever had a bad stay at any Premier Inn there, so I will stay there in Terminal 5, not mention that I am flying back First Class on BA to Dallas the next day, for the first time. So I will be spoilt! But it is good to change things up especially since you guys travel regularly. Glad you guys enjoyed the stay, and looking forward to the rest of your trip vlogs.

I don't blame you then. Premier Inn seems to have really shot up in price. Over £100 for us for this trip and the one next year too. The Premier Inns at t4 andT5 seem newer, so I wonder if the air con is better? xx

We stay at the Renaissance we was there three days before you. Lovely hotel but yes we agree it does lack the holiday vibe

I have never stayed at a hotel the day before flying. I sometimes caught the train to the airport (It takes around 3 hours) or a family member has driven me. (which takes about an hour and a half ish) That is from Sydney, Australia. Loved your runway view!

Hi! We stayed at the Renaissance last year before our trip. Because it was the first time going back in a while (thanks to covid!) we thought we would treat ourselves and booked the runway junior suite, it was LOVELY. Separate bedroom for us and then Izz had the sofa bed in the living area. We loved it so much. I would do it again in a heartbeat but the price puts me off :D xx
