I head to London Gatwick Airport to stay the night for my Florida Pre-Travel Day and I take you along to check out the Premier Inn hotel at North Terminal as well as some of the food and shopping options at the terminal. This vlog is from the day before my flight to Orlando, Florida for a solo trip to check our Universal Studios and Walt Disney World theme parks.

Nice to see WH Smith doing business at Gatwick. There was a time when you saw their stores on almost every UK high street.

UK high streets have certainly changed. WH Smiths, Woolworths, Rumbelows, Dixons, and C&A were once dominant names on our high streets.

Such a good point about staying at an attached hotel the night before a big flight. We live sooooo close to two major airports that we never do anything like that, but we are also always super stressed the day of travel, even when just flying a couple hours 😅

Ye that’s it, my journey isn’t too bad to the airport (maybe 90mins) but it’s on trains and I hate worry about cancellations / delays! I find it so much more relaxing just having to get up and head straight into the airport

Love this video Karen! I am from the US and so enjoyed seeing the airport, hotel, shops, and restaurants in the UK. You describe everything so well and I like to see the variety of foods, items, and other "bits and bats" offered in the UK. (I do love that phrase!) I look forward to the series.

I always feel like I’m taking the trip with you..excited to see this series!🥰👏🏼 you should totally get a pregnancy pillow , I’ve been sleeping with one since I had hip surgery a few years ago and it helps so much with my back pain 💕

I stayed in a Premier Plus room at Heathrow Terminal 4 back in January. Looks pretty identical and only paid 96 quid for 2 nights. Definitely will always seek out Premier Inn whilst back in Blighty. Never had a bad stay yet.

I think body pillows are for everyone, not just pregnant people. I don't use one, but I do also use four pillows on my bed by myself.

When I lived there the easiest way to an airport was the train to Gatwick. One time my brother was coming but all flights were delayed 8 hours so I went home and returned then. Was happy when they connected Heathrow but it was years later when I had already gone home to California to live.

Personally, if I was traveling solo, I would have gotten food before going to the hotel. Especially at night.

That's understandable - I find I feel safer when I've got rid of my case and can move more freely but have to say I felt very safe as the hotel is right at the airport so felt no different to arriving at the airport - I am familiar with the airport though being that I live in London - might have been more cautious in a new location.

Yay - this means there's a travel day vlog inbound. My favorite 😊 M&S is my go-to for the train, but i have a slightly longer journey than you. Is the Giraffe restaurant still under refurbishment?

2:27 Nice hotel Karen. I have never stayed in a Premier Inn hotel, my wife and I are Marriott Bonvoy members. I think the Premier Inn hotels are part of the Whitbread organisation?.
