This one pissed me off to no end. I am positive this guy now suffers from anxiety, PTSD, something! I deleted everything else I had typed up. Holy shit, I'm so mad. I am SO sorry you went through this, Josh. You kept saying that you felt like it was your karma coming for you- hell no. Your karma was you being sent to jail. All this other done to you while there, is total bullshit. It was not your fault~ do you understand that? It was not your fault! Prisons need an overhaul. They're supposed to be about REFORM, not creating anxiety, PTSD riddled violent guys with severe anger issues. And you best believe if they didn't have issues before being locked up, they do now. They ALL need a six months or year long course in PTSD therapy, and adjustment back to the real world before being released. That it's 2019, and we're just beginning to learn what really goes on inside those places, is horrifying and heart breaking!

Idk what he statistic is but the chances of a kid who's put to serve in juvi camps is not to far off from 99%, if I dare say I think it's around 90% will return to prison. The reincarnation rate is so fucking sky high. But as you can tell from these stories the absolute trauma and carnage in these places it's not surprising that these kids end up back in prison . These places will make non violent offenders resort to assault on a daily basis just to survive. I'm sure most of these kids that enter aren't little psychopaths but there's always those bad apples and it's them that set the tone. It starts with a few bad in the bunch and before you know it the whole block is firing off and shanking each other to live. It's sad. These kids need different rehabilitation bc these youth camps are only making them worse. Very very sad.

I guess his juvenile experience's were different where he is at. I have worked Juvenile and adult prison in Arizona, and can attest that the juveniles are way more brutal on the day to day than the adults. I've also heard that CYA "California Youth Authority" is super rough. Out here in the adult system you are protected by your race, nobody from another race is going to run up in your cell, beat your ass and take your shit. With the kids, whoever has the run of the pod is going to victimize the shit out of the weaker ones.

A judge made some comments about taking them down- and the next weekend, the judge's daughter and her boyfriend were found decapitated. It made the headlines, crazy story. Sounds like prisons better get shit cleaned or it will just get worse. You can only imagine what has already happened and been covered up. I'v known personality types like him before. Looked at as stubborn not tough. The more they're beat the more they galvanise against you, but they don't have anything to offer to get status or respect so they're just looked at as punching bags, and it keeps up because there's no resolution... they keep chasing the satisfaction of the beat down which they can't get cause the guy won't fold, but they won't stop either because they're never given any reason to stop..

When I was 13(back in the 80s) I got into trouble and the day I went to court, the courtroom was full of other juvenile offenders waiting to go before the judge. There was a kid a couple of years older than me and when he went before the judge everyone couldn't help but noticing this loud t shirt he had on. It was bright yellow and had a cartoon picture of a mean looking snarling dog and in big animated letters read "Meaner than a junkyard dog". As he approached the bench, the judge got a glimpse of that shirt and looking over the top of his glasses in a thick southern accent said slowly as he read it, "meaner...than...a....junkyard..dog". An amused and condescending look came over his face and he said, "I sent a boy down to Okeechobee (the place that the guy in the video is calling Indian River) last week who thought he was meaner than a junkyard dog and he got his nose broke." That scared me straight.
