I think taking a break from KZfaq while you wait for everything in Florida to be resolved and installed sounds like a very sensible idea. Don’t worry about us lot; we’re all be ready tot hear all the news and see all the things going on when you’ve moved in - I for one want to see ALL the stuff you do to create your dream property! Sending hugs for patience and blessings to you both, see you in 2024! You’ll be down there and happily working away before you know it 😊❤

I've been thinking about your Scamp. It's a tough call. I measured our scamp from tire to tire (we also have a 16'), it's less than 70". So I looked for landscaping trailers that could haul a Scamp as a possible way to get your Scamp to Florida. I figured once you got it to the repair center you could sell the landscaping trailer. Google Appalachian Trailers and you'll find several that could support the Scamp and allow you to tow it there. You'll need the ones that have a 77" between fenders dimension. At least this is a new option. Happy New Year, remember this is just another 'New Adventure!'

Don't have to film anything. You can just do a podcast-like thing and talk about how things are going in detail along the way like you are doing now. Anyway, have a wonderful end of the year and happy new year to you guys. Best 👍🍀

I would definitely be seeing about getting a flatbed trailer to get Scamp down there, then you can locally tow it to an rv park and work on it later, but have it there to stay while you get your property and tiny house done find jobs etc.. Seems to me it would be impossible if you are not down there to work on getting everything done... I hope everything turns out great!
@tennesseeterri8 ай бұрын
I agree, plus if you wait much longer you will lose this growing season. You need to get some of your trees in as quickly as possible and start some of your gardening. having the scamp there will allow you to go ahead and start looking for jobs, and be able to work some of your frustrations out on the property. Also some of the contractors will hurry faster if they know you are there waiting for them. another thing to look at for the skamp is paid transporters. They have the large trailers that you would need. You could find one that would put it on their trailer and take it down there for you.

Thank you for sharing your frustrations. Your post generated so many thoughts! This is one of those new realities of how things used to be to how they are now. I remember paying for caller ID on our land line so that I could tell when someone was calling me back (pre cell phone days). One of the other things I’m picking out from the myriad of thoughts going through my head is - you are acting as your own general contractor. Whereas a contractor has done this all before, I fell like you are experiencing first hand the learning process that comes with doing things the first time in a new remote environment (compared to urban) with fewer resources. I’m sorry to ramble on. I wish you well and hope to see you when you get to the other side.

Happy New Year you two. Hope everyone is well. Sorry things are not progressing as fast as you guys would like in Florida. It definitely seems like a lot of work but at least you guys have a plan. I'm sure you were aiming to get out of before NJ cold weather winter! 😂 Hang in there and stay positive like you always do! All the best. 👍

Can you put the Scamp on a trailer or flat bed and get it to the property? You could use it there while other things are done. Good luck! We will be waiting 😊

Thanks! You and Patrick be well too! Happy New Year! Just think, as you're sitting on your porch in a year, relaxing,you can tell stories about these times to your friends. It goes along and we just need to find the good in every situation. Keep up your good attitudes and we'll be looking forward to new developments! I think of you time to time and hope you are well. And cute Redford❤️

Thanks for the update. I understand the frustration of waiting. We have been planning/preparing to go full time in our rv for several years. We can now see the end and will be on the road later this year. Patience is a great word to keep us focused. Hang in there. ❤

I know its expensive but maybe a person will just magically appear and offer to drive the Scamp down to Florida on their flatbad! Then you can be there living on your land.

getting a well drilled can be a pain - i know 2 friends who have been waiting months for a well service to get to their properties. i know when i had my home built in 2001, it wasn't without a few curveballs getting thrown at me - i hope things work out for you! 😀

IDK what it would cost, but maybe look into a property manager that can get the ball rolling for you. Don't even know if there is such a person/ s that can even do that. GL. Maybe get a place down there so you can be on top of things?

My wife and I love watching your videos, I hope you are able to fix the Scamp, I thought I might tell about another youtuber, His channel name is Slim Potatohead he also has a Scamp, I don't think he had problems with his steel frame but he took his scamp off the steel frame and put it on an aluminum frame, trying to get better gas milage, I think he had the work done at a metal fab. shop. I hope this might help
@tennesseeterri8 ай бұрын
Absolutely. I would NEVER take any camper to an RV repair shop. Unless absolutely necessary. It will take months for them to get around to do the job that could be done in a day or two at the metal shop or utility trailer repair place.
