#4 Florida State prevailed 31-24 in an epic overtime win over Clemson. Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman made a leaping 24-yard for the game-winning touchdown for the ‘Noles. Jordan travis threw for 289 yards and 2 touchdowns, and rushed for another touchdown in the win. Keon Coleman caught 5 total passes for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Johnny Wilson caught 5 passes for 94 yards for FSU. Clemson’s quarterback, Cade Klubnik, threw for 283 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another touchdown in the loss. Clemson RB Will Shipley rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown and added a receiving touchdown on the day as well.

We squeaked by 2 unranked teams in a row, games we should have dominated as a #4 ranked team. I dont find anything about the last 2 wins anything to brag about let alone get excited. My sights are bigger than the ACC champ, which is weak this year. A win is a win, sure, but comittee looks at everything. Its not about winning, its about how you win and both the Clemson and BC game, who are both unranked, should have been put to bed by halftime, as a #4 ranked team. People dont realize these last 2 games hurt us more than it helped.

@@davidmadison6071I think it’s the fact we didn’t lose is what people care about but this being a close game wasn’t as bad as some people are making it out to be. Clemson is the #26 team and honestly should’ve been higher anyways and Death Valley is still one of the hardest places to play and Clemson has always given us trouble. If we go back for this game and Alabama doesn’t lose any spots barest beating a under .500 auburn each year it would be an outrage. But luckily we have off next week and can let our guys rest because that seemed to hurt us a lot the past two games

@@jackwells2924 the “clock management”, your referring to was 6 seconds without a timeout, from the 50 yard line, either way the kicker wouldn’t of had a chance to do anything with it maybe a hail Mary but it’s a low percentage play and you could end up giving up a score like the patriots last year, they made the right call to play for OT especially when my noles had some trouble getting stops

18:58 is when all the momentum changed, clemson was looking good, about to go up two scores. what a play by Deloach. he will remember that one forever. congrats to FSU for escaping from death valley with the W. Let's not forget that kicker came back this week and missed the chip shot, sometimes you have to get lucky and catch a break. This was a really competitive game, changing of the guard kind of vibes from this one.

Definitely should have run the ball on that 3rd and one. Line up quickly and hit them with another run while the defense is still reeling from the previous big run. But on that pass play one of the 2 blocking receivers in that 3 receiver bunch formation screwed up his assignment, took on the wrong DB, which let one of the 2 FSU defensive backs directly across from them run in unblocked while the other receiver stands there with no one to block. Maybe they make the 1st down and more if the blocks had been executed correctly.

The referees were clearly favoring Clemson. Saw numerous plays by Clemson that should have been called including what should have been a taunting penalty. Wonder how much the referees were paid? In the end the Noles won so I guess it really didn't matter.

Our offense does not look the same as it did against LSU. we try to play deep ball way to much. Clemson offense killed is with slant routes….why can’t FSU run basic slant routes?? We have some amazing receivers use them.

1 on 1 single coverage I trust our receivers ! Jt missed a lot of throws .. hopefully, with a bye week we can clean up some things, but the offense is not a problem .. average 40 ppg will win a lot of games.. I watched this thing closely .. kids on defense has to get better.. #3 -Knowles needs to play nickel ... he can't play safety .. too many missed assignments on defense especially earlier.. our linebackers overplaying that big #9 T.E. for Clemson.. pre snap is horrid on defense in the secondary. Go Noles but we must get better to compete against the UGA and MICHIGAN, USC .. .. Keep climbing. GO NOLES

Very similar game to 2014 Clemson-FSU game. Poor kicking and a disastrous turnover cost the Tigers a chance at winning in regulation, and the Seminoles took it with a TD and 4th down stop in OT. Klubnik still looked sloppy - doesn't handle the blitz well. Congrats to Florida State.

Offense Jordan Travis has to be better with his timing with his receivers, as well as his accuracy/precision and overall judgement of when to just run it and get those quick 4 or 5 yards to make our 3rd downs much more convertible, he needs to impose his will on these teams, it starts with him I’m not saying he has to force it of course, there’s plays to throw it away, however he needs to remember this is football and you don’t play for any program either, impose your will and bring it to the defense or there going to do it to you, period. Defense This defense is not playing well, I understand there’s been injuries, however next man up doesn’t just mean going out there and standing in the right spot, it’s about trying to make a play, it means not giving up on the play even if the player gets by you, it’s about not missing tackles, not missing assignments, this whole defense needs to get focused on the 3rd downs man, it was just constant conversions on our group, they need to do a better job of playing on high ferocious level on all 4 downs, our defense needs to play like there the cream of the crop every week.

too much man to man defense. Last quarter, throwing the ball downfield too much should have rolled out and let travis do his thing. or quick passes over the middle and use the time outs. Where was Benson?

Klubnik looks like a deer in the headlights anytime a blitz is called. & he cost them the game with that decision to pull the ball & throw the bubble screen on 3 & 1. That play call was a qb choice to either hand it off or pull or & throw it. They’re not winning anything with him as their qb unfortunately

This game hurts us more than it helps. As a #4 team we absolutely squeaked by 2 unranked teams back to back. Teams as a #4 we should have dominated. Committe looks at everything. Its not just about winning, but how you win and as a #4 team we should be dominating our games, esp against unranked ones. Clemson is a has-been. Let Duke run a clinic on them. having to win in OT beacuse Clemson choked doesnt look good for us moving forward.

With the injuries Clemson has yesterday - especially in the WR corp - it should never have been that close; Clemson is a program on the decline. Rodemaker needs to start against patsy Virginia Tech. Travis must be pretty hurt, because he played like dog-shit yesterday. Maybe he can use the extra week to heal up. Frankly, his ceiling is very low. An excellent athlete who plays serviceable QB. My criticism of him has always been that he is scared of tight throwing windows, is always a beat too late reading and throwing to complex routes and plays poorly against really good secondaries - which Clemson was, and which um and uf will have this year. His long ball has always been weak and he must rely on excellent separation - which he has been getting this year - to look good. Coaching politics keeps him the starter this year; Travis is ALWAYS getting hurt, which affects his play. Me? I want to see Rodemaker play against the Hokies just to see what I have for next year... and what I might just need down the road this season. That, and the secondary needs to improve drastically - their play was HORRIBLE yesterday. Run defense has suddenly gone south - Fiske and Lovett need to do a better job of clogging up the middle so LB's can make more plays. Games against Syracuse, Duke, um and uf still remain, and an ACC championship game may be a rematch game, which is never easy. TONS of room for improvement if this team wants to play to win against the likes of Texas, Michigan, Ohio St., Oregon or Georgia.
