the fact people put down your years of experience and studies and your professionalism to a simple trick pisses me off, so I imagine its infuriating for you. it's just condescending. like, why can't people accept that you're just bloody good at what you do and you know what you're doing? I don't get it. Great video as always, guys. always a pleasure to see casper!

I think Chris is actually Casper's child, so Casper would of course never attack their own kin. Chris was abandoned as a baby and cast into a river, just like Moses. Casper found Chris, a helpless child, and took him in to raise him as an alligator.

how would the costume of the dog be able to open its mouth? the only way would be for it to have some form of electronics in there in order to open the mouth, yet it would be in the water for a significant amount of time and would probably end up getting fryed because of the water, plus the weight of the electronics could probably drown the dog, especially with the extensive amount of time that it is in the water, so your theory, while debatable is highly improbable and unless you can prove otherwise, is 0.012/10. Sorry bud, I've heard better Ok I just now got it was a joke, my bad took me a while, yet it could be better if you added a few more details, such as describing the alligator costume as having a set of teeth, etc. in order to more thoroughly convey that your statement is indeed sarcasm. alright... my list of questions: • Does he like you petting him? • How does he hear you? (Like, where's his ears?) • A silly one here, when I was in school, someone brought a baby alligator in. And said if you turn it over and pet its belly, it is like a paralyzing effect on them. Is this true? (The alligator he was holding was indeed not moving when he did it.) • Are you ever worried, nervous? • Is Casper your best trained? • Do you ever "discipline" Casper? • If someone were to be in the water (like your girlfriend/wife?) would he try to bite her?
@OgdenM

He said in another video that Casper is his best trained. As for if Casper liking pets... it seems pretty clear to me that he does. Also, it's pretty clear that Casper really actually like Chris. He went up to Chris' when he got out of the water to check out what he was doing. Also, Casper keeps swimming bag over and over again on his own to get petted. :-) Animals that don't like being petted don't do that sort of thing.

I think its very easy to see that Chris has been bit by a radioactive alligator in his childhood. Since then, he gives off radio waves in a frequency only alligators are able to hear and understand. Those make them believe he is one of them and thus they do not attack him. He is constantly telepathically communicating with alligators and grew very fond of their culture and way of thinking. So much actually, that he likes alligators more than humans and by making these videos, he is trying to make the human race think, that alligators aren't the routhless killing machines they actually are. Trust me, I've seen a bunch of movies. I know how violent they actually are. Im pretty sure in at least 10 years, we will all be brainwashed by Chris and be eaten by alligators, because we start believing his lies about alligators not being the killing machines they are. Alligators are going to then overtake our homes, cars and countries with chris as their leader, because he was the one who made this all happen. Now when i think about it... does chris actually like alligators? or is he just using them as his gateway to world leadership?

You can tell the difference in his demeanor with the animals compared to other reptile experts, and the gators’ response to it. Hand-fed from babies alligators in a zoo who react much more aggressively, and you can tell it’s based on the behaviors from the humans interacting with them. As a side note, even with how well-trained Casper is, you can still see Chris always glancing at him to be sure he’s not up to anything nefarious. 😂
@darthplagueis13
@darthplagueis13 2 жыл бұрын
To be fair: Zoos usually don't try to train their animals to do certain things unless it makes working with them considerably easier because generally speaking they want their animals to display natural behavior. It is entirely possible to keep an alligator without first getting them accustomed to interacting with humans, so that's what Zoos typically opt to do.
@russalyncromwell3046
@russalyncromwell3046 2 жыл бұрын
@@darthplagueis13 That’s true. Though it’s not so much tricks as the way they react at feeding time. It seems dangerous not to have some training involved for animals that big, especially if they’re a zoo that occasionally gets them out for educational experiences. 🤷‍♀️ In zoos that don’t do up close feeding and don’t need to do educational experiences where they’re out of their enclosure, though, it definitely makes sense not to.

Thank you for making these videos! Having been bitten by an alligator 10 years ago(totally my fault), I have had a bad perception of the species for a while . I have learned a lot about alligators watching your videos and appreciate it very much. I still wouldn't get in the water with them but I have gained a lot of respect for their intelligence and behavior.

Finding this channel at random tonight was a highlight of my week. I don't normally go in for animal-focused channels; I like animals well enough, but I'm neither a dog person nor a cat person... if that makes sense. But this is both entertaining and educational. I'll be watching a lot more of your videos from now on.

I'm a certified scuba diver. Most of my dives have been in Hawaii, where the water temperature is in the mid-80s. I wear a full wetsuit every dive minus a hood. I've tried shorties, but I'll get cold by the end of the dive, like blue lips shivering cold when a dive is only 35-60 minutes long depending on depth. I'm thin, so I lose heat easily, even in 85+ degree water. People don't understand how much heat the body loses in warm water for extended periods of time unless they're *cough* fat, I mean naturally insulated.

Back in 1997, I was living in Jamaica for a semester in college and we all went on a tour of the Black River. There were crocs all over this river. We got to a point in the river where the guides pulled over and they said "YOU CAN GO SWIMMING HERE IF YOU LIKE, THE CROCS DON'T COME DOWN HERE." I was like "WTF, do they need a key to get in?" I'm a pretty brave person, but I did not go. All of my classmates did. To this day, I still can't believe this is real. I actually went online a couple of years ago to research it to make sure I wasn't remembering the experience in the wrong way. NOPE. It was real. You still couldn't get me to swim in the same waters as these crocs. This river was murky in many areas.

You two are adorable - and so is Aries - I started watching you when I chanced across your channel. I’d been in Costa Rica and no one really educated me on the crocodiles. There was little real information I could get. When out walking alone I wasn’t sure how worried I needed to be. While used to being in bear and cougar country, and how to behave there, in CR it seemed people wanted to exploit the thrill factor. Now when I return, while being smart and respectful, I don’t feel the need to be overly anxious. Thank you!

This will probably sound weird but watch videos of you and Casper has helped me with not taking psychopaths or other personality disordered people incapable of empathy in my life. I feel your grief about how stupid people can be. Working with live animals (domestic & exotic) over 40 years, the 'trick' that most people don't get is that it's simply understanding the species, lots of research, and spending time with the animals to establish the bond so they don't see you as a threat to defend themselves or as potential prey. It's simply respecting the animals, knowing what they are capable of, not making mistakes to put yourself at risk and establishing the bonds of mutual trust. I applaud you for all the work you do & the time you dedicate to educate!

Hey Chris, as I was watching your video (which is sensational and educational might I add), you said that he views you as the alpha. I have two questions. 1) Does he view you as a member of his 'congregation' or family? 2) As you are the alpha of the pack, does Casper get aggressive and try to fight you during mating seasons, or are you the unquestioned leader? Also, sorry if these questions don't make sense, I was just wondering about it whilst watching the video. I hope you have a great day, and continue posting your brilliant content, (they have helped me understand so much about alligators). Love from Australia!!

Chris, love your videos. They are all so informative and well done. As a scuba diver I have swam with sharks on numerous occasions and have Never been attacked. Kind of the same basic principal, we are not the usual food source, and there are millions of sharks around the world and in close proximity to humans whether they know it or not and they could literally feast on us if they choose to do it. Thanks for taking the time to teach the uninformed that these are not mindless killers.
