this is amazing ... loved the story so much and it makes me want to start it right away ... thanks for doing all this research... watched this more than 5 times in one day ... can you please please make a playlist for videos with a researchs and stories ... iwould love to watch them over and over again 😭 thanks a million sending love from istanbul to you and your guests 🤍🤍🤍

I was delighted to watch this video as I am currently working on this sampler Nicola and really enjoying it. I find it a very relaxing and calming sampler to stitch and I love to think there is a connection of some kind with Louisa. That little bit about the missing stitch in the heart motif really touched me. Thank you again for all your hard work in researching these samplers and bringing them to life again. It is so good to know the story behind a sampler. "Louisa" in one colour only is a sampler I would like to do!

Another wonderful video Nicola...those children were so lucky to be admitted to the orphanage! The records are such a great reference for the samplers. My heart did lurch when you said "children born in wedlock"....there were likely many that didn`t qualify, poor little mites...I have been watching Victorian Slum House, and the conditions that children lived in in London were atrocious! This would have been heaven in contrast I would think...

britstitch In later decades, when the number of orphans reduced as living conditions improved for the population in general, some of the entry rules were relaxed.
