Hi Deborah! Wonderful to see you for a regular floss tube. Such lovely stitching on your WIPs. That banner and stockings are going to be so cute, looking forward to your progress on them. The bag from the bag exchange is very cool. Love your sewn bags as well as especially the bucket bag. I called my mom into my room because of your sweatshirt and she absolutely loved it. Said she needed one so she could cut the sleeves off to wear it down here. LOL Walter had a great third birthday party with his entire immediate family there on both sides. He got 2 puzzles for his birthday, which are 24 pieces each, and has mastered them already with very little prompting. He is now starting to get into playing games, which his mom and dad do a lot of, so may have to look into some age-appropriate games for him to play while here but, in the meantime, is loving playing with his magnetic and wooden blocks building houses for him and I to live in, always wanting me to have the bigger house so he can take care of me. Such a sweet, kind, and thoughtful toddler already. I hope that part of him never changes. Had to buy a new bookcase and now have to assemble it, of course. Waiting for a day when my hands feel like they are able to handle the Allen wrench. With all the weather changes we have had lately, my body is definitely protesting. About ready to end my January stitching and begin the February goals. Take care. Love and extra scritches to Wesley and Doc. Dawn in Texas

Hi Dawn! I'm so happy Walter had a good birthday party! Puzzles and games are both great for repeat entertainment and learning, which it sounds like he is all in for. And I love that he is thinking of you with all his building. My shirt seems to have been a hit with several people. 🤣 It made me laugh, and I'm glad others are enjoying it too. I hope you have a good stitchy weekend!

Thanks again for an interesting video and for showing all the bags. I will look into your book suggestions. And thanks again as I was the recipient of a $25 gift card to I23 Stitch and after much deliberation I managed to finally hit the BIN. Fun charts and needles are heading my way.

Hi Deborah… good to see a new video from you. Love all the stitching you shared and oh my….your bags! I have an old (like before you were born probably) Singer Genie sewing machine that I used to make all kinds of things on. I fell away from sewing for a long time (decades) and during lockdown, I treated myself to an upgrade and bought a Brother machine with lots of bells and whistles. I can barely thread it but that’s a story for another time. 😂 I’m envious of your sewing skills. Like you, I’m a big fan of murder mysteries, especially British ones, which I binge watch on Acorn and BritBox so I’ll be on the search for those books. I recently read Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger…my first book by him…and really enjoyed his writing so will hit the library for a few more. I need to get to Stitch New England with my MA friends soon. Maybe we’ll run into each other there. If not, see you at the farm. 😂 Take care in the snow!

Hi Kay! I hope you're staying warm and dry with our New England weather these days! I'm also a big fan of Acorn and Britbox and their mysteries. What did we do before imported TV? Funny you should mention Ordinary Grace. I was supposed to have read that for a book club yesterday and didn't manage to get it started, but I've heard lots of good things about it and still want to read it soon. Glad to know you enjoyed it too!

Hello!!! I love your shirt. I am such a fan of bling!! LOL Great to see you again and get caught up on what you've been stitching on. I especially like the big bags you made. They would hold so many wonderful items. I'd just need someone to carry it for me when I filled it up!! LOL

Deborah!! It’s always such a delight to find your videos waiting for me to watch! You’ve made my Saturday morning that much better! Stitching on a SAL from Just CrossStitch magazine that just came out called Hummingbird Garden. Loving it! Also getting excited for Stitch North in April. Fun, fun, fun!! I hope that there’s a retreat in our future together!! Want to get to Stitch New England I’m thinking next year so maybe then!! Stay warm and best wishes!!!

Hi Michael! That new Hummingbird Garden piece is beautiful, isn't it? I'm so glad you'll be stitching it! And I hope you have a wonderful time getting ready for Stitch North. That's one I'd love to attend some day. I'd like to do one in England or Europe too -- I think that would be fun. And sometime we'll manage to find ourselves in the same place too! I hope you have a good week, my friend!

I love your upcoming Advent calendar idea! So well thought out! Your creativity knows no bounds! Please keep us updated with your progress! Ohhh...reading...authors...murder mysteries...right up my alley! I've lately taken to finding authors from my state (Minnesota) and have gone to see them when they visit my local library to give talks. Jenifer LeClair is about a detective from Minnesota who, while on leave, heads out east to Maine and goes sailing on schooner ships and of course runs into murders wherever she goes. I've got the whole set, as far as I know, and will continue to look for new ones. I would love to visit the east coast someday and would also love to take a little vacation on a schooner...I also really enjoy William Kent Krueger and John Sandford --> especially the 'Prey' series. PS - I also enjoy all things English - your description of the books you're reading remind me of the Midsomer Murders series on PBS, and I'll definitely be looking up your suggested author!

Thank you! I think for big projects like that, knowing the whole plan in advance helps keep me on track. Otherwise, it might be too easy to not keep at it. I love the idea of seeking out local authors and to try to see them in person whenever you can too. That's something I want to do more of this year as well. I will definitely have to check out the Jenifer LeClair series too! So funny - you're the second person to mention William Kent Krueger too. I was supposed to read Ordinary Grace for a book club last weekend, but I didn't manage to get it read. Now it's just on the regular To Read pile. I've heard lots of good things about it.

May I suggest that you could use Velcro on the back of your advent ornaments. Velcro come with sticky back, and comes in circle. This would eliminate you having to sew them on. Happy stitching!

Hello! I love the classic English murder mystery too- try Anthony Horowitz ( officially sanctioned by the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) and the book by Lucy Worsley, the study she did of Agatha Christie. Enjoy!

Thank you so much, Frances! I've read a little of Horowitz and have several more in the To Read pile. I've only discovered Lucy Worsley recently, but she also seems like a good one to follow. I'm glad the classic English mystery is living on.

I'm catching up on watching flosstube (finally!). I love the idea for your advent calendar. The bags came out really well. I did my first following a basic tutorial in December. I have more fabric I'd like to use to make some bags and project bags - I just need the block of time to sit down and do it. 🪡👠

That's my thing with bags too - I have lots of fabric and ideas, I just need to sit down and do it. I tend to do a bunch all at once, then nothing again for awhile. We get there in the end, at least, don't we?

Hi Deborah! Great to see you. The linen triangles are perfect for the banner stitch! I got my fabric for my Advent calendar, so will start soon. The one you chose is so cute. Your bags are excellent. I want to get those British crime books. We do have them at our library too. Did you see Sophie Hannah has written 5 Poirot books? They are good. I listened to them. I also just read an excellent book called What you are Looking for is in the Library by Michiko Aoyama. It’s translated from Japanese. Excellent read. See you next time

Hi Linda! I am so happy with the linen triangles -- good thing I've carried them around all these years to find the right project for them. 😂 I have heard of the Sophie Hannah Poirot books, but haven't read them yet. I have been working my way through Christie's complete mystery writings, and at this point, all I have left is Curtain. I think instead of reading it, I'm going to start all over again and leave one last book still out there and unread for awhile. Thank you for reminding me of the Michiko Aoyama book too! Another one I need to add to my To Read list. I hope you're doing well, my friend!
