The Christmas "parade" of projects was fun to watch, maybe a bit enabling! Poppies are my favorite flower. I have stitched 2 of When Cardinals Appear, changing most of the colors. One in remembrance of my parents and in-laws, my mother hated pink so needed to change out those colors. Just need to add in the initials yet.

Congratulations on 2000! I have gotten back into cross stitching and am loving floss tube, so happy I found your channel. I have met your friend Stephanie at the quilt shop where she works. I like stitching Christmas in July, but still stitching patriotic. Hopefully I will get to my Plum Street start with the eagles and poppies (We will always remember) but I am already picking my Christmas charts. I see SAL announcements and squirrel a little, but have dropped out of some - too many things to stitch!

I got stuck @ JFK once for 6.5 hrs a Long, Long Time Ago, thought I was gonna lose my mind (American Airlines, plane equipment issues). The girl at the desk said she couldn't get me back to AZ that night, but could to DFW. I was told I could have my checked suitcase once in Dallas. She said since I was so nice to her, she changed my ticket to First Class, it was awesome, comfy seat, adult drinks, filet mignon dinner, ice cream sundae, coffee & I stitched afterwards. Landed & got to the hotel @ 2AM, they paid for my hotel room. I slept only 4 hrs, showered, then same clothes because they kept my suitcase & gave me a zippered bag of toiletries when we landed!!! 🙄Shuttled back to the airport at 8am, rode the tram, got to my gate, a totally packed plane to AZ and now in the middle seat. Ugh! When my hubby picked me up in Phx. and we got outside I bent down & kissed the ground, I don't recommend that as the pavement was dirty & probably oily from cars, but I didn't care, lol. And I NEVER checked my suitcase again. I would have rather kissed poppies.

My husband got stuck in the Atlanta airport all night too. He was coming home to Cleveland from driving my mother and her car to Florida. He was flying home and due to weather as I remember, he got stuck in Atlanta! Not the greatest place to spend the night! Sorry that you had such a rough time!

I lived in Macon GA and flew through Atlanta at least monthly, it’s such a long airport but my least favorite is by far Dallas FT Worth and JFK is next! I have slept on the floor in a. Few during storms etc and it is not fun! Happy you made it safely and it’s now a memory! 😂 Don’t you wish there had been a field of Poppies close to sleep in? Blessings ladies❤❤

I tend to be a SAL dropout too. I stitched the HOD "Classic Christmas" and did the string of Lights in different colors vs White. I'm waiting for my WIPGO # to be called to get back to BBD "Tis the Season" to work on the cardinal some more.
