Good to see you & your creative talents again! I must send you a pic of my Moroccan Lanterns, just picked up from the framers, since it was YOU awhile inspired & enabled me. It will be hung next to my similarly styled floor lamp with 10 lamps hung in a spiral. It was a fun stitch so thank you!

Love Chatelaines and I definitely love your Venice with all of those blues! The Chatelaine Support Group is awesome. There are so many photos and discussions. I'm sorry you're missing some threads! I had ordered Sparkling Swan? Art Deco Swan? ...something Swan last year during European Cross Stitch had their sale. I finally received it on August of this year, I believe it was due to the backordered Glorianas. Crazy wait.

Thanks, Wendy! The blues really sold it for me. The thread thing surprised me that they just didn't mention them being missing. The Chatelaine Gallery page told me the black Anchor Marlitt had been discontined and suggested S310, the silky DMC, so maybe they didn't include it because it is a DMC, albeit a "specialty" DMC. And I was able to get the Flowers of Italy Gloriana from 1-2-3 Stitch with no delay. I probably should have checked it when it came in, but they package it up so pretty you hate to tear into it. I just hope they're aren't any missing beads, as I know some of those have been discontinued. Hope all is well with you. --Deb

Hi there, just wondering if you have found a pattern keeper alternative that can be used for stocking pdf's. Or is it still paper only. thank you

Hi Kelly, Sorry it took so long to reply. I wanted to do a little research. If you have a stocking in a PDF, you should be able to use PK if it's compatible. If you only have paper you could try to take a picture of the chart and load it to PK, although I've tried and haven't had a ton of luck with that. I think you have to get the paper really flat--maybe even tape it to the floor to photograph it--to keep it from curling up and to reduce the creases if it's been folded. To tell you the truth, I'm fairly new to PK, so I don't think I've had the opportunity to use it for a stocking yet. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching! --Deb

Just getting into cross stitch. Can you tell me what defines a piece as a chatelaine? I only know if it was a belt to carry the keys of the household by the female owner of a castle

Hi! Welcome to the wonderful world of cross-stitch! I'd be more than happy to answer that. Chatelaine is the name of the collection of designs created by the late Martina Rosenberg. She was known for her intricate patterns that include beading, specialty stitches, and silk floss, although I believe you can find conversions to do them in all DMC cotton floss. They are usually quite large (for instance, the one I'm working on will be 23" in diameter), although there are a number of smaller designs, too. Many are in the form of a Mandala with repeating designs around the square or circle. Several represent cities, others feature gardens, etc. I would recommend looking at chatelainegallery.com to see examples.
