Love starting with a laugh! I watch you on my laptop (14" screen); I don't own a television. You both look great to me! (And Caroline; my vision is like yours: i wear my glasses to read the pattern, then put them on my head to stitch with my hoop in hand...! P.S I'll be 72 in September and have worn glasses since age 9)

I want to say hello ladies. I'm new to your channel and I found your laughing and joking infectious. I'm not new to cross stitch. Been doing that for you since I was probably about seven or eight years old. I'm 68 now. Love all the work that you're doing. All these different projects are just amazing. Just wanted to say hi. I love Chatelaines! Many years ago I made three of them and I have had one, maybe two, all kitted and waiting (for years). I was lucky to do my first two in “classes” on the internet with the lady herself. You two are so fun to watch! btw, I very recently bought one of the scroll frames from your establishment for my HAED. I love it! Have fun in your travels!

Would love a wip parade, no matter how many episodes. You both do such beautiful stitching. I ordered a trial 10 pack of Roxy floss. Am excited to try it out. I mostly quilt, but seem to be doing more and more cross stitch. Most are smalls. I have the 12 days of Christmas too and want to get them stitched this year. Enjoy all the conversation and laughter. Episodes would be great. "Old WIPs", Christmas WIPs, MFE WIPs, small WIPs, large geometric WIPs, animal WIPs, landscape WIPs, sampler WIPs, etc, etc. As your stash gets organized in its "new" home you can see what groups you have.

Caroline, I also had a British Mother-in-law who also had a way with words…when we told her what we were thinking of naming our first born, her response was, “Alice? Who would ever name their child Alice?” 😂 We chose the name because it was my Nana’s, so I guess her parents 🤷‍♀️

Ladies, so much fun to watch you, as always, and, oh my, what beautiful work you do!!😍 Can I suggest a small change to the terminology you use for the way you stitch, though? I'm pretty sure that stitching in the ditch is specifically a quilting term where the quilting is done on the seam line (ditch) where the pieces were joined. Caroline, the term I've heard used for the way you and I cross-stitch is "stitching in the well", and I recently heard it's opposite (with the fabric on top of the hoop/q-snap/scroll rods) referred to as "stitching on the drum". Such a simple and clear way to describe it!!🤗

Good morning! Respectfully, while I agree that it is also called "stitching in the well" - I don't think my terminology is incorrect. I stitch in the ditch BOTH with my quilting and in how I cross stitch. Just like "waste" and "away" knot - they are different ways to say the same thing, and can be used for any craft. I was taught that it was called stitching in the ditch and have met others not in my immediate circle who call it the same - I think most native English speakers know what a ditch is, making the description clear. My mistake was in not also mentioning that it can be called something else (stitching in the well)- as I usually always do when discussing waste/away knots. i have done so in the past, but many times in these videos, my teacher hat slips and I'm just having a gab with a friend. ❤️

Caroline I laugh so hard when you mentioned my calculations for the salentine stitch, because after you said that, I went back and did the calculations again and now I came up with 238 sets, so I had to laugh. I am just going to keep enjoying the stitch and trying to keep up

My guess is you can't throw away wet paint in most places. So they probably have to let it dry before whoever deals with their rubbish will take it.

Ha! So happy to hear that you also have a hard time resisting the charts others are showing!! I think I'll do a short video to show people how to turn their computer around... maybe compose a short poem to say aloud while I do it! BUT! I have to tell you that when you turn 70 you absolutely don't want to start 70 new projects because your daughters will stand there a give you the stink eye! You know that look - the one that says you are not allowed to die until everything is done. Every quilt, every wool appliqué, every punch needle, rug hooking start, micro macrame, and knitting project - plus with the resurgence of cross stitch.... Oh my! I will be very old before I am allowed to shed this mortal coil. It is said that all you can take with you is the love.... I'd love to take my workshop. Don't let anyone tell you that you are too close to the camera. It is perfect! And always lovely to see you come on laughing and enjoying each others' company! Don't over promise yourself about the "50" thing. Your fall is so busy: Sampler September, Stitch North, holiday countdown. Plus anything you don't know yet you'll be inspired to do in between! I see you having a lot of finishes so far this year, so just count them in December and see how many you did!

Instead of a promise, I'm feeling it more of a "see what you can do!" sort of thing. If I don't make 100, I certainly wouldnt be disappointed. My problem lies in the way my brain works and I see that I'm already at almost 20 of my 50 in the middle of February and it makes me twitchy - because like Kerri's gas price of $50.01 - I need to go to the next number. 😂 So - maybe I'll go in increments of 10. 😊❤️

I’m somewhat new here. That was enjoyable! I loved the “So you like that, do you?” mother-in-law story. One time after I had my hair cut and styled, my boss said, “Oh, you got your hair cut! Do you like it?” Gee. Could you be a little more transparent, lady?? 😂 I showed her! I retired!! 🤣 Second thing: I joined the Hello from Liz Matthews Coffee Shop SAL too! It is going to be SO cute! I would love for you to improve your webstore to include "Notify when Available". It seems like every time I want to order one of your kitted items the linen is out of stock. Then I think well I'm not going to order just the floss and pattern without the linen..so I don't place an order. Then out of sight out of mind happens and I never get back to your site. WIP parade - go ahead but I will skip it. (Sorry - I find WIP parades overwhelming and depressing. I know I am weird.) I enjoy seeing the work as you go, and really don't care if you have 100 scroll rods in your graveyard or two. The loveliness as you both stitch along is great! PS: Thanks for explaining scouring.
