Loved to see your stitching and lovely Christmas treats. At least cross stitch will not take much room up in your suit case. Look forward to seeing you when you are next here. Until then take care. :)

Just. Found your floss tube channel. I am a mother and grandmother and you have given me hope that my daughter and granddaughters will appreciate my stash in the future. I summer in the Adirondacks and hope next summer to visit Hobby House in the Rochester area. I have organized my charts in page protectors and loose leaf books, I am glad to see that its a logical plan that the girls might appreciate. I too love Harry Potter and am stitching Frogwarts year one, but I recharted it in Sulky as an experiment. Love your videos and hope to see many more. Safe travels and I hope you find more fun LNS's during your travels.

Wow, you made a lot of progress on your Bucilla piece! When I backstitch, it depends on what it is as to how I do it. If it’s an ornament hanger or snowman arms, for example, I’ll do it as one line. If it’s along a rooftop like in your piece, I go up and down at each hole, if that makes sense. No rules! Just do whatever you think looks good. Love your sweatshirt, Go Bills!

I never heard of Buscilla before. Now I’m going to have to check out all their kits. The house is gorgeous. Snap for grid. I always mess up without it.

I use every type of bag as a project bag. Early on projects were in baggies. Bigger projects were in gallon bags. REALLY big projects in 2 gallon baggies. 😂. I love your sheets bag. Now I use more formal project bags but inside those… yep. Baggies. Lol. Enjoyed your videos. Kate

love your stitching as for back stitching you normally go over 1 x unit at a time, when you go over more at one time it's called a straight stitch.

For me, my backstitching depends on the project. Cat whiskers, for example, I might do one long backstitch over several blocks. But backstitching around a house, I would stitch over every square. Also, when backstitching at an angle (corner to corner) I often stitch over several blocks. There are no cross-stitch police! You do whatever you think works/looks best on your project!

For my Back Stitching - Here is what I do I always use DMC 310 for my Back Stitching because Black shows up really well. I always try to do the Back Stitching by Squares. Now - if there is like a Diagonal Line or a Line that is back stitched and it’s hard to figure out how to make that line - I will just do one long line from the hard part of it to the end. When it comes to Back Stitching - there is no Rules - when it comes to regular stitching there is no rules. You stitch like I do - you do one 10 x 10 block before moving onto the next one. Love all of your WIPS - you are making great progress on them. Have safe travels for your job Happy New Year Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🧵🪡🧵❤️

For backstitching, if the chart shows lines going across several squares not at the intersections, stitch one long stitch.

To get full effect of hand dyed full x stitch is best. If it’s linear like the sign go in rows but full crosses. If it’s clothing and want shadows of the color do full crosses in a four or nine grid. As to backstitching I use what I’m doing to decide linear manmade materials I will do long up to three stitches. On natural things I stitch singles unless it’s like for effect: hair, flowers & in motion things. My experience hope it helps for your decision.

I have seen others working on the Stars Hollow and I think that you can stitch each part right next to the other season, depending on how you want the piece to look upon finishing (Welcome stitchery shows that project as it is progressing too in case you wanted to see that too). I have just been making sure that the backstitching is tacked into place well and is over the cross stitching to provide an outline, whatever that looks like in the project I am working on, just doing what works well project by project. I may have to travel for work again soon also, I usually bring a smaller project with less color changes and something that is easier to see, a 28 count even weave vs a 36 count linen. It's fun to see what cross-stich stores are around where you're going to, even the big box stores may have some variations in options so that's fun.

I enjoy your videos. I wish you safe travels with your work. I'm no backstitch expert at all, but I just completed a piece with lots of backstitching and it also had a method called "couching" to maintain a curved look with the floss. With the backstitch I would sometimes go over 5 squares. There were long segments and to do backstitching on each square would have made it extremely choppy looking. In the end no one is going to critique how I backstitch so I just did what I thought was best to make the piece look good. If you hear that anyone has an "official" way of backstitching share it with us in the future.

❤ I love those floss drops!!! I backstitch over one but if I do go more than a few stitches I will pin stitch it so it stays straight. I know some projects it looks better. 😊 TFS!!

Great video, enjoyed. I backstitch one square at a time but don’t know if that’s the right way to do it. Happy stitching !

Doing great for being a newer stitcher! You’re figuring out so much so quickly.just remember there are No Rules in cross stitch! It’s for fun ..it’s a hobby..KZfaq has lots of helpers to watch for more hints as you probably know. LOve the floss drops!

Great video! I'm definitely not a back stitching expert, but when I do mine, I do small segments! So instead of coming up and down on each stitch, I'll come up on one, and go down 3-4 stitches away from where I started. I feel like going farther than 4 stitches away makes for a really wonky looking piece. I hope that makes sense! 💕

Welcome to the flosstube world! I’ve enjoyed your videos! You might want to double check the Gilmore Girls piece…. I haven’t done it but I think the winter block might come after fall instead of at the start of the year. Form what I’ve seen on other’s channels, fall and summer are in the middle.
