Congrats on the new house! I’ve been through the same back at the start of the year, so I totally get the stress. Here in Australia you might have a dishwasher in a rental, but definitely no fridge, microwave or washing machine. Colder parts of the country must supply dryers, but not where I am. Enjoy your craft room! I moved in mid-Feb and my new craft room is still piles of boxes. Happy moving!

Yay on the house. Making progress on our stitching is the goal no matter how many stitches are done in any given setting. Once you are settled in your new home then you can revisit how you want to work your goals on each piece, and there is always next year to restart the goals that you started with in the beginning of this year. The kitties will love all the new spaces to check out. The best thing is the craft room. You don't have to worry about things being left out, you just shut the door. See next week😺

Hi Jenn Congratulations on getting the house you wanted. Yeah. I am so happy for you and the boys. It’s funny that you found a house to rent and is moving close to the first of May. My Pastor and his wife was renting an Apt - it is a 2 bedroom Apt - well they luck out because there is a 3 bedroom house that is for rent by the same company and they got it first before anybody else did. They too will be moving in at the end of this month. They are so happy. He will have his own office. The best part is that he works for the Company too so that makes a difference. I would move in a heart beat right into their Apt but for a two bedroom Apt it cost $900.00 a month. For a one bedroom Apt it cost $800.00 and the Apts are inside of a big Apt Building that has a huge Community Room - Exercise Room - A Outdoor Pool - Game Room. I give anything if I could live there. A pin or magnetic board is good if you are restricted from putting hooks in the wall. @handworkmaniac has done it in her room and means her pieces are on show even if they aren’t framed. Don’t over do it, making a home takes time.😊

Yay for the house 🎉 here in aus the only things provided in rentals are the oven/stove and a dishwasher if you're lucky enough. All other appliances such as fridge/microwave/ washer/dryer are up to the tenants to buy. Cant wait to see your new space 🧵🐎🧡

Congrats on the new house, in Canada it is not common to have the microwave above the stove with a vent. Some homes do have that, but its not common. Most have microwaves on a counter or a microwave cart.

In New Zealand rentals only come with an oven/stove. I think for newer apartments they might come with more appliances because they are a specific (small) size to fit the space available. In Germany however it's crazy - they don't come with a kitchen at all, like nothing no benches sink etc you have to measure up and choose everything and get everything from a place like IKEA and get it installed. So it's new and clean and configured exactly how the occupants want it BUT it's a huge expense and hassle so people don't want to move often lol.

Good luck with your move! We have to move from a two-bedroom apartment to a three-bedroom house in a few months, and hearing your update is both reassuring and terrifying. In the uk it's not very common to rent a house with stuff in it. You have to buy your furniture and appliances including cooker. But a new house is always exciting yet for new home x

You mentioned you didn't like to have a focus piece for so long time. What if you did this: one basket with full coverages for choosing the focus piece of the week (and you do those incredible 2400 that you do on these HAED and Honeymoon Sunset) and another basket with non full coverages for choosing the daily 500 stitches. I'm working on Spring at HRH too and I've changed mine to 3 across by 4 down so it's not so long & skinny. I've finished 3.5 squares (and the outline for the top - recharted that slightly to stretch across wider). Enjoy it - but know there's a lot of stitching in each block!

Congrats on your new place. In Australia, the rentals I had didn't come with appliances except for maybe a dishwasher. They all have the oven, stove, and fan. I prefer this because i prefer to use my own stuff. Moving sux but exciting at the same time. Stitching in when moving, it is what it is. 🐈🐈‍⬛🥳

If you want to do a focus piece idea next year, how about 12 focus pieces…1 per month with a goal of 4k stitches so 12 pieces get a solid chunk done, but allows you the ability to have variety (with focus lol). You could even switch it up to rotate them weekly for more variety. I admire you to be able to get as many stitches in on your focus pieces. I’m attempting to focus on 1 piece & life is just not cooperating. When I mathed out the goal in December it sounds totally achievable…but then reality hits and the math will not work. I cannot do 300+ stitches on 1 piece every day and still let me work on other pieces. (The math said 215 daily and I boosted it to 250 to account for off days…yea…the off days have surpassed my buffer already. I haven’t even hit 10k on it yet this year.) My experience with apartment renting is some come with microwaves, some don’t. Some come with washers/dryers, some don’t. The ones that come with washers are super annoying because most won’t remove them if you have your own. (And why are some washers & dryers in a closet on the patio?!?)

Congratulations on the new house and especially that you will have a craft room!! Score!! I packed once as the movers were coming - never again, it was way too stressful 🥵. I agree with you regarding having focus pieces, they become a chore. I am doing my darnedest to finish a mini HAED for my oldest sister + the HAED Sal as well this year, next year - no focus pieces for me!!
