Speaking only for myself, I usually love the haul portion because I see charts I might not ever see anywhere else. I'm 66 and have been Xstitching most of my life but was really into in the 70's & 80's. I gave everything away as gifts so was monogamous (but now I'm thrilled to be promiscuous, if only through needle and thread 💗) I usually keep a running total of about 200 KZfaq videos. Not all are flosstube. If someone new pops up, I give them a chance. But I did recently cull my subscribed list, only because I was having cell phone storage issues so I have been cleaning house, so to speak! I love your Mirabelias and have about a dozen, mostly mermaids I bought in the 90's when there was a lovely shoppe nearby. But I never kitted my mermaids and am in the process of trying to find the beads & Kreinik. You inspired me to jump in so I want to thank you for that. I did just purchase the four seasons of Celtic ladies plus Royal Holiday. They are not kitted... P.S. I am not crazy about Teresa Wentzler but I do love the sled piece you just received! I think its pretty, but just not something I'd choose to do.

Hey again, Amanda! Just catching up. Your Cinderella finish is quite impressive! 😍 I love that angel holding a child kit you found. What a great piece, but shocking it's not more popular. It's really gorgeous. Utah is definitely a more prepared-for-snow kind of state than Texas... haha! I laugh at Utahans that drive super weird and slow in the rain because it doesn't rain often here. I'm from the Northwest of the US (Washington state/Oregon) and drove in the rain almost all year. 😅

Wow - your Cinderella finish is gorgeous!! Thanks for the heads-up about the fractionals. I have one of the kits (I forget the name of it) and had already planned on swapping out the kit aida for an evenweave.. I'll be sure to use that instead of the aida. I had heard a couple of other flosstubers mention that someone had complained about the amount of haul that folks were showing. I didn't realize that there was discussion about the amount of WIPs. I agree with your solution. Folks are usually pretty clear about when they're showing haul, so it's easy to stop or skip if I'm not in the mood. Personally, I watch flosstube to see what folks are working on; it's inspiration for me. I mostly view haul the same way; there are things out there that I haven't seen. My wishlist grows with almost every video I watch. (And without seeing your purchases, I would have no idea that Vermillion Stitchery charts are still available!) I chuckled at your Teresa Wentzler story. I'm a Teresa Wentzler fan.. I love the look of the finished pieces with the blends and the gorgeous borders. I almost expected you to say that you don't like how she does people, and that I totally understand. I don't think she does faces all that well.

Congratulations on your finish!!!! I’m stitching that one and am about 1/3 of the way on it. Also, I agree 💯 about the OG Anne of Green Gables and Pride and Prejudice. I can appreciate the Kiera Knightley version but I have to set it apart in my head 😂

Amanda, I was so excited to see that you started making videos again. You are the one who inspired me to restart my Thomas Kincaid Beauty and the Beast chart. I loved the pattern but hated the fabric. I tossed it even though it had about 5000 stitches. Still working on it but I’m enjoying it more. You had a tutorial before showing how to finish an ornament, will you please put it back on? I love how you complete your ornaments.

I'm just catching up on Flosstubes, lol...Cinderella is SO awesome 😍! I would be staring at it all day!! And LOL at bajillion million 😆 It's funny...someone messaged me once and told me my channel should be called "DogTube' and I should stop talking about my dogs on Flosstube 😆 I like that there's a lot of Flosstubers...my stash has grown immensely because of what I see other people stitching! And don't worry...I cheat on my WIPs all the time 😉

Very happy to see another video and it was so nice seeing again a couple weeks ago. I to am hoping and praying for Charlotte next year. Your suggestion of “just don’t watch them” if you’re frustrated with the content of a flosstube channel - I wholeheartedly agree. I actually have stopped watching quite a few channels because I either found them repetitive with no real new content or they were just not keeping my interest. There are so many out there that just because everyone else watches them doesn’t mean you have to. Go out there and explore - you will find the right channel for you. Hope to see at the Peel day in July.

Hey Amanda, congrats on your BIG finish! Had to chuckle at the head to project comparison. So, you cheated on Cinderella with a new WIP. tsk tsk 🤭 😆 Alma's Little Wonders just started it. She's using an evenweave because of the fractional stitches and French knots. Thanks for the tip about Donna Vermillion Giampa's sister's ebay shop. I have several of Giampa's patterns and some she co-designed with Linda Gillum so will definitely check out the shop. I get a bit frustrated with the haul portions of some videos occasionally because it felt like some stitchers buy way more than they work on. Looking back, for some, it may have been a coping mechanism for 2020. And yes, some stitchers are so prolific in their output that frequent haul can be justified. I did stop watching someone because of the haul vs output ratio. (Ok, and their taste in stitching was moving away from what I like too.) The occasional big haul due to going somewhere special, or a massive sale doesn't bother me. But 3+ new charts and multiple pieces of fabric every video (if videos are frequent), combined with new floss and all the accessories can get...stale? So I fast forward/skip haul portions sometimes. Some of this might be I'm a bit of a minimalist/cheapskate and all the accessories gives me anxiety about where to store stuff and wonder about someone else's money situation (which shouldn't be my business). So haul portions aren't bad, but I wonder if there's some "keeping up with the jonses/fomo" going on occasionally. 30+ Celsius qualifies as hot in Canada. Texas is currently in a state of baking...37-40C (100+) for a high every day for the next week. 😖 People complaining about 20C is where I giggle and roll my eyes.
