Lorrie, you are mischievous, like a squirrel that sees something shiny & gotta have it! Well, we are all right there with you! I see a fun stitch on Floss Tube, and I’m ordering right away! I think I have more fun kitting up a project in a perfect project bag! Love it all. By the look of your craft wall on previous videos, we know you are not a slacker stitcher! So many beautiful finished projects! We stitch what love to stitch, even if it’s just a few hours of stitching, it’s ok!

I was an avid stitcher in the 80s and 90s and stopped in 1999 to pursue other creative interests. I started back in 2019 and when i cracked open those rubbermaid containers of dormant cross stitch stuff I had been hauling around for 20 years, I had 8 unfinished projects and 17 kitted up projects ready to be started, plus about 100 charts and booklets. I am happy to say I have bought very little in the way of new patterns, I am finding such joy in finishing these old treasures and thinking about the circle of life. One unfinished project was Lavender and Lace's Enchanted Alphabet, which I started sometime in the mid-90s when my sons were little, and in 2021 in finished it for my sweet little baby granddaughter that I had no idea would ever exist at the time, and she loves it and it is perfect for her. I have finished 3 of the 7 old unfinished projects, completed 3 entirely new ones and have vowed to buy nothing new until i make a good dent in the 17 old kitted up ones. I'm not getting any younger 😂😂! In that 17, I have 3 old unfinished samplers that have pulled work and hardanger in them, and I really need a refresher, I don't completely remember how to do it! I am mostly monogamous these days, and the number of projects I have does give me a case of the guilts, but they also motivate me and make me think about what I want to leave behind. Working on mostly on my old projects keeps me mindful of why I bought them and loved them in the first place and keeps me focused and away from temptation of what's new and shiny. Plus, I like looking through my large stash of old charts, I have a few things that are quite hard to get now, so there is value in what I already own & I tell myself to just be happy with what I have. I enjoy watching all you flosstubers, ya'll are definitely running in a faster lane than me, and it's fun to watch, but I'll just stay over here in the slow lane and putt along on these old projects. It was a lot of fun to see your long lost wips. I have lots wips and have never counted them up. I do know that when I pull them out I get excited to stitch on them for the most part. There just isn't enough time in the day to stitch everything that I want to stitch!

I loved seeing your WIPs. Thank you for sharing. I had to put a few of the patterns on my wish list! I am a list-maker too. Not only do they help remind me of what needs to be done, but I get a sense of accomplishment when I can cross the entries off of my list! I admire your sense of adventure with all your WIPs! They are wonderful. I can have up to 14 WIPs at one time. Any more than that and I feel overwhelmed.

I love all your WIPs, both past and present. I haven't stitched in a while, but I have my "mojo" back, and I went from a small box of WIPs to a large box of WIPs in about a month's time. Oi! I am having fun though. I just took an inventory of my finished pieces that need to be finished. Another OI!! Thirty small to large projects, plus the Christmas ornaments I haven't put together yet. My two granddaughters have promised to help me with the finishing. I live on a fixed income, so I have to choose my projects carefully. See you next time.

I love how excited you got when you found kits. 😁. It used to stress me out that I might have too many WIPS and someone would judge me, but I don't care anymore. I don't have a massive amount but I found that if I start something it's there waiting for me to work on rather than just filed in my pattern box. Lots of great projects and seeing them was inspiring. I have some WIPs, but not too many...some projects fully kitted and tons of patterns not kitted up. Having more WIPs now than I used to have doesn't bother me, I just stitch what I'm feeling like at the time. Since watching more FlossTube, I do some Stitch Along's, start more things in general (I used to be a monogamous stitcher), and, of course, buy lots of patterns and supplies for my stash!

Thanks for sharing. I started stitching again after a many year break in summer 2020. I was used to having only one or two projects. I am easily enabled by Flosstube and started 2023 with 84 Wips. Last year was a start everything year. The number of wips I have is a little overwhelming for me so I'm trying to cut that number down this year. I'm down to 80 at the moment. I've had finishes, but I've also started some things.

I love your upbeat attitude toward your WIPS! I, too, have a HAED design that I was sure would be done by now. The pattern has 28 pages, and I think I've completed 2 full pages. I keep telling myself I should get it back out. That hasn't happened yet!

I have many wips as well... so many in fact that I created a more accurate way to label them... WISPS = works in slow progress.. and many of my stitchy friends love the updated term. I truly enjoyed your video and have a number of the same wips that you have. ❤

On my iPad Numbers app (spreadsheet) I have a list of all my projects with name of designer, fabric, threads, date started and finished. I have a WIP section at the top and when I’m finished I change the WIP to a finish and the program automatically drops it down to a finish section. I also have a UFO section. I have also kept up with the number of finishes I have had. Numbers is great.

Lori, do the full coverage a 100 stitch block at a time. I just finished one that took me 7 years on and off. Have finished 3 HAED’s in 7 years plus others non full coverage. They are stunning when complete.

If you are a slacker, you belong to a huge slacker community. My husband has asked what I am going to do with my WIPS and stash. I have told him I plan on stitching them all, although I will be 848 years old. But if I don’t get them all done, I have told him to make up swag bags and hand them out at the funeral. I have that Prairie Schooler ABCs also, I am up to the “Q”. I really need to get that back out also! I love seeing all your WIPs, some of them are my old friends, too.

I have And They Sinned started, also. I have slightly more done on mine then you do, I'm over working on the center lady in the center of the top row. I do have to admit that it is a restart, started the original try on 28 count linen, but this time I'm stitching on 36 count linen and like it more.

I was amused at how many 'need to go on the short stack'. I'm careful with my starts, but I feel the same way about everything I have kitted up. I feel a bout of startitis coming on.
