My mom is going to college too. She’s in her 40s and I’m in my 20s and we both use our iPads for school. Trust anyone can use them, if you still are unsure go to your local tech store or apple of course and get one! I’ve been understanding my lesson plans much better just by taking notes with the iPad. 🤩💪🏻

Nice tips! I've graduated in 2015 but we should never stop studying. I use my ipad to take notes on books I'm currently reading, online courses, language courses, and for other kind of notes.

Since I got the IPad Pro and now IPad mini 6 (I traded in my iPad Pro for the Mini due to me seeing more value in the Mini than the Pro, and it’s more portable) I’ve never had to buy supplies or books for school. I just go with my iPad for notes and my laptop and hard drive if needed for school projects. It’s way easier

I’m curious if you felt the need for a laptop in college? I have the iPad Pro and am planning to use that for college, I don’t own a laptop and don’t want to drop money on one if I can use just the iPad, so I’m just wondering lol

I take notes very rarely, as I would much rather listen to what the teacher has to say. However when solving problems in mathclass, or making a disposition, or reading articles, or looking over and highliting my essays, an iPad is always better than a laptop or paper. I usually thew away all my papers when I was done with them, but now I have all problems I've ever solved the last year, and it's really neat.

Glad that you mentioned that there’s a learning curve with handwriting on ipad. I was wondering why I felt weird writing with pencil on one. It’s that slipperiness of the native screen/tempered glass.

@@similarteacher i watched another ipad video and they said that the “paperweight” screen protectors don’t do this, but it would be cool to test it out! As someone who uses an XP-pen drawing tablet(which has a paper feel to the screen) I’ve only had to switch out my pen’s nibs twice in the past three years- then again I only use it for drawing. So honestly? I have no idea! I think it also depends on how heavy you are with your writing(how much pressure/weight you put on the pencil).

Great video! I have another con that I have experienced which is that not all professors allow technology in class or have stricter rules around it. I used to have to carry a notebook around just in case. Other than that the iPad is awesome!

I had one that was the same; we had to do finance with a calculator and were not allowed to use excel, even though all the other professors were using excel.

I just started my first semester and man looking back at my first notes that I took on my iPad I’m just like 😭 but the progression is amazing so you’re right people in todays time have it nice. Just invest in an iPad and it can do it all. I have the mini 🔥

Hi! I really like your video, actually about 7/8 months ago I was about to buy an Ipad when my professor showed ma another option which has the same futures but at a very low budget. I'm talking about the Tab S6 lite which is from the brand Samsung. It has the same things as the ipad and also it includes the S-pen (no charging needed) made for the Tab , also the device has an included note taking app that is Samsung Notes. I personally recommend buying it since I never had any problem using it as a full time student (the battery is a long life battery) and the price is really good (320€/327$usd) This is my piece of advice if you are really struggling financially to afford an iPad

@@nehapandey6477 i personally never found it glitchy , I use it nearly everyday and I charge it every two days. Actually , even when I used the split mode for hours straight I never encountered this problem.

If you have the money to buy an iPad do so if your in school or college cause buying an iPad is a one time purchase which can last forever but with traditional stationary and note taking you have to continuously buy stationary which can cost a lot of money 💰

Buy an iPad. If youre a student, buy the 256 GB version. The smaller GB fills up quick.

He's right. But not as a student. For most people who are standard users. Going below 256 gb is ridiculous. I like how subscriptions to cloud storage were brought up. Anyone know how much subscriptions cost when added up and then over years? Absolutely agree, don't go below 256 unless you have to

Just give it time and don’t stress it! Try maybe getting a job maybe that you can do after school or during the weekends. You will definitely be able to save up the money if you work. Wait that depends if you’re over 14 lol

I am a gcse student and I am thinking of asking for an iPad/laptop for Christmas to last me until the end of sixth form (3+ years) and I want an iPad for digital notes/revision/textbooks etc. The only things I know I will need are Microsoft word, office and outlook and other revsion apps/materials and I want to ensure I can use them on an iPad. I just don’t like using computers as much - I am very bad at using them - and I would add a keyboard to the iPad and so I don’t know if it’s worth it as a replacement for a laptop because I do not have the opportunity to get both!

Hey upgrading to the 256 is best. Depending on what you do on the iPad 64gb will go by fast. I had an iPad Pro 11 inch 256. I used it to take notes and edit videos, watch movies and it was enough for me for a good two years. Recently upgraded to the 512 because I have too much stuff. Once again….depending on what you are going to do 256 is your best bet if you will be doing a lot on the ipad

It’s the iPad Pro 12.9 inch but I would recommend the iPad Air or the iPad 10 generation as it is big but not to big :). I hope this helps if it doesn’t then just ask! :)

@@Julia-nn6tzi have the iPad 10 and its great but because its new you do need to buy a few more things for it and wait for some accessories to come out depending where you live. For example if you use the Apple Pencil you need an adapter to sync up the Apple Pencil and it is only for the first gen pencil

I personally think 64GB is perfectly fine. You can save notes on iCloud or even google drive. BUT if you want to store everything on the iPad, might as well get the 256gb

as someone with both, technically no, there’s many ways to enhance your ipad to have the benefits that a laptop has, such as buying a keyboard attachment to type out things and downloading apps such as microsoft word, excel, and so on to give you that laptop feel. The only reason I have both was because I originally had the laptop and bought an I pad to be able to handwrite my notes and then transfer them to my laptop. Laptops are better for lecture notes if you are quick at typing because you are able to write what your professors is saying without losing that eye contact or possibly missing a good point that they made whereas handwriting the notes on an ipad may be slower. However that issue can be solved by just buying the keyboard attachment for the ipad and then rewriting the notes at home. Overall if you buy the ipad, don’t waste money on a laptop unless you are doing intensive research and want a bigger and compatible device to do so, OR if you are doing anything involved with coding or engineering, which in that case you should settle for a microsoft laptop and not an macbook or anything apple related.
