There’s a middle ground with most fighters. Balance. Narcissists tend to view things through a black and white, binary lens. Presenting issues as being black and white when theirs really lots of gray is a form of gaslighting btw. I admire Floyd for how hard he worked and how talented he is but that’s about it. When he was at 160 he was a beast super defensive, amazing counter punching great combos and great Ring IQ. He needs to go back to that style.

Truth. I remember when Maidana caught him with that shot at I think it was the end of the 3rd in the second fight, and it was because he kept doing the pull punch, which made the move telegraphed. He was saying that around that time, he was just going through the motions with training at that point. He's right it's a lot of wear and tear. You can get hurt when you're bored or mind is elsewhere. Colbert lost right after talking about that chicken shop. Fighters will give clues when they're done. The hurt business isn't easy on the body. Same with Ward with his shoulder, then when he got knockdown against Kovalev. When he moved up to light heavyweight, I could see he wasn't the same as when he fought Dawson. We're human. All sports are humbling, especially boxing. All boxers know this regardless of how tough they are cause they know there's expiration date. He's basically telling Canelo he can go ahead and call it a day before he gets hurt. Canelo has been a pro for a long time. He's young, but he has a lot of miles on him. You get old overnight.
