✅ I propose to recap the best moments of this fight and see my review of this confrontation. А round-by-round analysis.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. may be officially retired, but his boxing career continues to live on.
The 45-year-old Hall of Famer’s latest exhibition match unfolded recently when Mayweather faced off against MMA veteran Mikuru Asakura in Super Rizin’s headliner, which took place Sept. 24 at the legendary Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. In a surprising turn of events, Asakura actually cracked Mayweather with several hard punches in the opening round before the legend knocked Asakura out with a two-punch combination in Round 2.

Also Conor caught him clean a few times in that bout like the uppercut and a straight etc. even won rounds, your comment here more so is just a hate comment on McGregor in all honesty. By your logic it's like saying McGregor landed more shots on Floyd than Canelo and Pacman as striking stats prove that, but your not looking deeper into it and seeing the differences between the bouts and that's what you're doing here.

So I took a look at this Mikuru Asakura guy since I didn’t know him. He’s apparently an MMA fighter first and foremost. And this was his one and only boxing match. Still I don’t fault Floyd for that. It’s just an exhibition match and he’s clearly doing this more for fun and a quick payday. Being retired he probably just wants to have a nice and easy bout and have a good time.

come on now. the way to gauge if the opponent is a threat is whether mayweather hugs, clinches, and runs. when you see mayweather standing in the pocket or moving in, you know this opponent is easy. But wait, Floyd is like 15 years older on top of all this, so you know that this opponent is not just easy, but super easy.

@tor13128
@tor13128 8 ай бұрын
@@marksmanissa2148 well, you simply get hit more when you move forward, stay in pocket, and fight more aggressively. Floyd's last Tenshin Nasukawa fight can't be compared cause Floyd is like 50lbs heavier than Tenshin. Watch Floyd fight completely opposite against dangerous professionals in his boxing career. Mikruru tagged Floyd here because Floyd was not doing things he does against dangerous fghters: 1) Against dangerous opponents, Floyd employs the sideways bladed stance with arms covering body and chin tucked behind shoulder, which makes use of boxing rules of no hitting the back. Floyd does this when his opponents are so dangerous that he needs to minimize where they can hit because Floyd can't react to all their punches. Since Mikuru is many levels below them, Floyd doesn't do that against Mikuru, again naturally you get hit more when being aggressive. 2) Against dangerous opponents, after Floyd throws a punch, he immediately presses his forearms on their head and glues it there until he gets out (this is against boxing rules). Floyd only does this to dangerous opponents because he is scared of punches he can't see. Floyd doesn't do this to Mikuru because he's not scared of Mikuru, which again is why Floyd gets hit a bit more if he stays in pocket without using this trick. 3) Against dangerous opponents, Floyd doesn't bob and weave his head in the pocket like Whitaker. Floyd immediately clinches after slipping a punch, or clinches after missing a punch. Against Mikuru, Floyd doesn't clinch, but keeps punching space to keep trying to bait and punch Mikuru. Again, when your style is less defensive and more aggressive, you get hit more. 4) Against dangerous opponents, Floyd will keep backpedaling (on top of clinching) to the point where the crowd starts "boo"ing him. Here, Floyd is staying in range all the time, and constantly moving forward. Again, this is because Mikuru is not a threat at all. Ofc, any fighter moving forward gets hit more. 5) Against dangerous opponents, Floyd uses head control (another illegal move), where he sticks his jabbing hand out, pretending to jab/gauge distance, but if opponent moves forward, Floyd puts his palm on their head and sticks it there, controlling their head. Again, Floyd only does this to dangerous opponents, not against Mikuru. In totality, Floyd uses all these things (and more) in every moment of the fight against dangerous opponents. Example: -If you move close, Floyd moves away. -If you chase, Floyd sticks his jab out. -If you slip and dash in, Floyd pushes your head with his palm to keep you out. -If you brush off his hand and dash in, Floyd blocks your punch and clinches you immediately. -After ref breaks the clinch, you move in, Floyd moves away again. -You follow Floyd, Floyd lands a potshot on you. -You think it's a fight now and try to throw back, Floyd moves away. -You chase him again, Floyd throws a punch. You manage to dodge it and try to counter, Floyd is clinching you already. -Ref breaks you up, you want to fight, Floyd is out of range again, you must chase him. -You trap Floyd against the ropes and want to throw punches, Floyd is in bladed stance, so you can't throw right hooks because that's his back, you can't throw body shots because his lead hand covers it. You throw a straight to his face, but his shoulder is guarding his chin, and he counters you with a straight. -You get hit, you want to fight back, but Floyd is clinching you now, or moving away from you. That's a defensive Floyd, and Mikuru did not fight a defensive Floyd because Floyd thinks Mikuru is too not even close to his level. Floyd simply just walks in front of Mikuru and trades with Mikuru. Mikuru landed those punches because Floyd chose this type of fight. Mikuru would not land those punches if Floyd didn't want this type of fight. This is the only reason Floyd got hit by "some" good shots. Floyd only fights toe to toe with an opponent that isn't dangerous. The meaning is this: Floyd thinks he can trade blows with Mikuru and beat him up badly. Floyd chose to trade, so Mikuru got to land some nice shots. (and remember, Tenshin Nasukawa couldn't do anything at all because Tenshin was many weight classes below. Mikuru is around 145lbs, so about a Welter.

If there is one thing that I like about Floyd, that's his chin which is severely underrated. He might not have power in his hands but he was blessed with a very strong chin

I believe Floyd is shifting with his rear hand attacks because he is slower at his old age and this style of footwork allows him to exit the pocket laterally and safer.

The man has never been knocked down in his career.. even if u guve him the judab controversy he has only been floored 1 time in his carrer and that was his glove touching the canvass

Took him a little longer to get his timing, but that was vintage Floyd. Dude was decent. Floyd having fun as always. TBE.
