Wow! Another magnificent painting. Yeah, you lost sight of leaving negative space but that gorgeous blue still made its way through the paints, especially the red/orange area and also other areas and it really makes the whole painting pop. I love how you use these striking florescent colours. As you say, the rainbow colours can't go wrong - well for you anyway 😂

Hey there, I enjoy your "swiping videos". Your colors are BANGING!! I have been pouring for about 6 years and "swiping" has never been my strong suit. I am a DUTCH and BLOOM girl. Mainly DUTCH. I am constantly perusing KZfaq in search of new techniques, inspiration, etc. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I find your choice of colors, attention to details, and end results, FANTASTIC! Might I add just one word of advice, when tilting/stretching your paint, always bring your paint back to center before changing directions. I noticed that you spend a fair amount of time on your beginning background. I think that you will find that in moving back to center will improve your composition and allow you to keep much more of that detailed background that make your swipes very MANOLI! Love it!

For cell activators do you have to use an opaque colour?
@manolimotion
@manolimotion 3 ай бұрын
Hi Lisa! Hmmmm, not necessarily. I have not really experimented much with using translucent or iridescent colors as a cell activator so I'm not sure. However, its worth a shot to try using colors that are not opaque as a cell activator. i think it would work as long as the density of the cell activator is greater than the other colors you're swiping over.

Your channel came up in my suggestions yesterday - I think I was looking for rainbow flip cups. (I've been trying to put together a decent Pride series for over a year. Still trying. But I digress.) I hit that Subscribe button before I finished the second video. Look up the Waterfuls toys from the 1980s. I think I'm buying them for the other fluid artists I know. To play, you took the water-filled container and pressed buttons that moved the air around and thus moved the little rings or balls or whatever. You probably don't remember them, but my little brother and his friends had them. They remind me of fluid art - we can only control the fluid so much, and the rest is up to the laws of Nature. Doesn't matter if we're manipulating the paint with air or a swipe tool or gravity, we can only control so much. Enjoying your channel. Will have to go through your back catalog because you have art on your wall that I want a better look at.

Thanks so much! You're trying the dutch pour, very cool. If they turn out muddy, it may be cause the paints are mixed too thin. Ive found that water tends to do that as well. Not sure about the glue as Ive never used it in a pour. But I think maybe trying floetrol could possibly work. :-)

Yes I do have questions. Do you have silicone oil in the smaller tube? I know when people use the silcome oil and that what brings in the cells. Also what kind of paint do you have in the cups. As I can see the colors in the cup or neo colors. Thank you... Steph...
@manolimotion
@manolimotion 4 ай бұрын
Hi Steph! So there is no silicone at all in this painting. Silicone does produce cells for some techniques. The cells and lacing in this painting were created with the paint I used to swipe with which mixed with 1 part paint to 3 parts Australian floetrol. The paint in the cups is mixed with 1 part acrylic paint to 2 parts American floetrol and thinned out with about 10% distilled water to get the right consistency.

What's the differences between the Australian and the American Floetrol?
@manolimotion
@manolimotion 4 ай бұрын
Hi Andrew! The main difference between Australian and American Floetrol is the formulation. They have slight variations in the ingredients and ratios, which can result in different performance and outcomes in your art projects. The Australian floetrol is best used as a cell activator and is thinner than the American floetrol.
