I had a problem where the liquid doesn't show, if someone happens to get the same error: · 1: Remember to check "liquid" under domain. · 2: By default blender first frame is 1, in frame 0 you won't see the liquid. · 3: Change the resolution with the slider arrows, under domain.

how do i simulate a fluid in an enclosed space? like a Potions bottle or something ?
@DrunkenUFOPilot
@DrunkenUFOPilot Жыл бұрын
I'm not quite the world class guru on Blender Fluid Sim, but I was working on an animation involving that. Make a mesh shaped like the bottle. Make a domain cube enclosing the bottle. The bottle gets a Fluid sim set to Effector. Put a sphere or cube inside set to Flow, Geometry. I'm too lazy to try to make the fluid fit the container, so just a sphere or cube. I set whatever params I like, turn on the Mesh checkbox, and bake 100 - 200 frames. Use the mesh from the final scene as the initial fluid for the real animation. In my case, I want the bottle to tip over and roll. It's not clear to me if that should work, since I keep screwing up simpler things about animating fluids. Good luck!

"The simulation will not work if flow object is smaller than the resolution cube". You mentioned in this tutorial. I looked at the flow and the cube at the corner of the domain. If those were the ones being referred to. what would indicate their disparity? Which slot must be adjusted?
@GraphicsMK
@GraphicsMK 2 жыл бұрын
I dont understand what u ask exactly.But you can decrease the resolution cube size by increasing the resolution division value. Or u can scale up the flow object.

My idea is I'll setup a seen with this, I'll render it and using the ocean modifer, I'll setup a huge seen and I'll combine both.. the little part with focus will be this and the baground will be ocean modifer.. this seen is a plane focused seen... The boat will be seen for a split second and the camera will shift towards a plane flying above.. hopefully it will be epic

This tour of the Fluid Simulator settings is enlightening in ways that the typical how-to video isn't. I can't imagine anything better for making progress on the road to mastering fluids, except maybe this: a video that goes over the several most common problems with fluid simulation. Myself, I often try to set up a simulation but nothing at all flows out. Why? Domain set to default "gas", or the Inflow object is too small, or ... I could make a list! Or I see the fluid flowing in the 3D editor, but rendering shows nothing. Why? I turned off the domain box visibility in Object Properties - I mean, do we want to see a big box in the final render? But it should be kept on. If it's not that, it's another mistake... I could make a list! Fluid particles shooting off to infinity. Fluid flowing through alleged obstacles. We all got stuck, and still get stuck, forgetting settings or doing zany things.

Still new to Bl;ender, have been using it for a while though and I've done some fluid sims before but never in a project, how do you keep the domain from being visible in the scene? For instance, I got the sim to work everything looks good, but then when I render you see the domain until the sim kicks in, the domain goes away and the sim plays, when it's done the domain comes back. if I make the domain big enough to encompass my scene, even if I apply the scale I now don't get any fluids to simulate, could it be because I am scaling the domain big enough to fit my whole scene that my particles are there but a lot smaller than original because of the up scaling of the domain?
@GraphicsMK
@GraphicsMK Жыл бұрын
Hello.Before rendering pls check your timeline and fluid baking start and end frames are the same.If you scale up ur domain so much,ur voxel (resolution cube ) will become larger.If the voxel size larger than ur flow object,then fluid simulation won't work. In this case,you need to increase resolution division value.
@legacylee

@@GraphicsMK interesting I had a feeling something like that was going on, I'm running low on time for my submission, just gonna forgo the blood squirt for now and focus on the details I can control. But thanks for the info, I'll play around with it after I'm done this render. I just love learning new stuff, and then playing with it until it breaks, then figuring it out how to fix it, it's my convoluted way of letting lol appreciate the help MK!
