2 жыл бұрынthanks to royal kludge for sending me this keyboard so I could violate the hell out of it. it reminded me of all the nerf guns I would tear apart and somehow end up throwing them back together in some wack way that somehow works better than it originally did. I'm not sure why the I came up with all these awful things I could do to the keyboard, but it worked out - i guess?
if you want to get one for yourself you can either buy it from amazon or you can order it directly from their website for cheaper if you use code "flurples" or anyone else's code. all the codes give the same discount

@@duccc pennies work well but you don’t have to use pennies. You can use polyfill aka pillow stuffing or sorbothane, or other foams like Poron, thinsulate, memory foam, etc

The pennies thing is genius. I was thinking about cutting out a brass block or use tire weights. I love when people are creative and invent their own mods to share with the community!

Although would be careful since the pennies are conductive, I assume the tape u put is enough to mask it

Use dynamat or noico sound deadener instead. It's adhesive and has a similar weight effect.

I had this Keyboard last year. It's a pretty amazing for modding even though the one I received wasn't hot swappable. One downside to it though is the ON/OFF switch at the bottom. Any case mods that raise the PCB will make the switch difficult to use. I wish it was in the side instead.

Nothing's cheap about the RK61 except the price itself! I got mine 2 weeks ago and even stock it feels SO good just by changing the caps to an original set of NIPPON WAVE. Mine even came very well pre-lubed and with basically no rattle on the spacebar - I'm impressed with the stabilizers RK uses. Awesome board overall, I'd consider it even at 80-90 USD price.

v solid video for budget/plastic boards. with ergo keebs especially it can be hard to find a nice case even if youre willing to shell out the money for one. pennies + foam + tape like shown in this video completely changed the sound signature of my iris for like no cost, would really recommend 👍

this is my comfort video, it lets me forget about everything for a bit. I've tried all these mods, they're all great. the bobapolias look great, overall super clean sound. probably my most rewatched video. I would fall asleep on this video if it was a bed. I would listen to it like a podcast if i was in a new country, feeling alone. i would sit with it at a park and feed ducks with it. this video feels like sitting on a lakeside hammock, watching the sunset. like soft rain on a window, without any worries. this video is hot chocolate and a fireplace to me.

Could you theoretically, gummy o ring mount any cheap keyboard if you remove the stand offs and file down the cable hole, like the gk61 kit?

there's a possibility it could work with the gk61 as well, but for some keyboards like the tm680 it won't work because it has a weirder mounting style

The PCB doesn't sit higher on the keyboard because you used a gummy o-ring to mount it, it sits higher up because you layered pennies and a thick piece of foam in the case.

For me personally the feel of green switches (blue as well, but to a lesser degree), is completely unbeatable. Anyways, really cool mod! Great video!
