one thing i would suggest is when everything is filled up don't put the radiator cap yet let it cycle through the engine for a while. That will help get the air out the system that way you don't have any air pockets into your coolant lines. Otherwise that could cause your engine to overheat and do much more things that you don't want to happen...

ElusiveAngel, you're spot on! I should have included that, but didn't think about it at the time. Thanks for watching!

@Dmitry the vinegar helps remove any unwanted particles or 'crud' people may say. Out of the system.

Hello! watching you from the snowy Russia, please tell me whether vinegar is required? pure distilled water will not wash out system? and that, if the mix of vinegar and water will remain in the system?

Nice man! Can you tell how many liters of liquid fit the entire cooling system of the GSX-R 1000? Thanks

What are the benefits of doing this? Im stripping my bike down and im at the radiator stage so will have to do this anyway

Do we have to mix the vinegar? I'm not sure if I feel comfortable putting vinegar in but if its okay then its whatever.

Thanks for the vid! Gonna attempt this tomorrow. Question: 160-180 degrees u mention, is that for the thermostat to open?

Does coolant expire? If you don't ride that much, do you still have to drain it at the manufacturer's recommended intervals?

Having trouble finding a store in the UK that sells Distilled Water now. Only Di ironised Water.

I have a leak from somewhere in the my bike. I have a 06 gsxr 600. I ended up having a small accident and my bike started to overheat and leak coolant. I found out it was my radiator since I layed it on the right side causing the cap the bend and coolant was coming out. I have it fixed but now, the coolant isnt coming from the radiator cap. Now its coming from some place else. And it still overheats. I have changed the thermostat and still overheats, i checked everything but i saw that the coolant is coming from some place in the middle of the bike. Do you know where else it could leak from? Its leaking a lot once I turn the bike on and gets up to 200 degrees. It leaks when I put coolant but its gets worse when I turn it on. Any ideas? Help! Lol

Miguel Perez i have the same problem how do you fix it
@MrSqueakinator5 жыл бұрын
buy some UV coolant and a black light. It'll make it easier to spot the leak
@stefanhurd70284 жыл бұрын
It could be head gaskets

how do you bleed the air bubbles out? just by shaking the bike from side to side
@tysonmccrary17 жыл бұрын
Yep, exactly!
@enduroridernw7 жыл бұрын
No, There is a bleeder bolt on the water pump. Its next to the crankcase on the stator side. With your engine warm and still running, take the bolt out until there is a steady stream of coolant squirting out. Replace the bolt, shut off the engine, and top off the radiator and resovior.

Vinegar??
@tysonmccrary15 жыл бұрын
Yes, because the Vinegar will get rid of any build up in the bike's system.
@zipper9784 жыл бұрын
just do a drain and fill. no need to flush everything unless its an old bike and its never been changed

The reservoir was under the gas tank?!?!?! Always wondered why Suzuki got such a bad rep... great bikes just sad they're designed by a 6 y/o.
@drizztdourden79093 жыл бұрын
It depends the year. My 04s reservoir is just under right fairing, mounted to the radiator
