Does it matter what kit your using? I have a different bulb but using fluvial solution. Would it matter? Also should I put it at the other end of tank further down or closer to CO2 setup

Shouldn't matter, the solutions are pretty much the same for all brands, putting it farther away from the CO2 diffuser will give you a better reading for what the whole tanks level is

Only pressurized CO2, liquid CO2 products don't actually contain any CO2, They contain a product called a glutaraldehyde, which is a bioside meant to fight against algae. Essentially algae will consume any available CO2 in your aquarium and the use of liquid CO2 boosters essentially kill off the algae and leave any CO2 that would have been consumed by the algae for the plants kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fZuAodd20cuYn4U.html

I know you posted this a year ago but I was wondering and hoping you'd share any info you had on why mine suddenly wasn't in there after like three or four days. I went to check it's readings and it was just empty in my aquarium

Thank you.., it was very easy the installation of the CO2 tracker..,, but I do have a question: according what you said, results should be seen in about half an hour or so….! In my case is already 24 hours and No changes in the color….still blue…..! What does it mean…..?

You can also measure KH and PH to cross reference.

Looks like a better design, I've been using the glass drop checkers fir absolutely ages, until yesterday morning when I found one of my dwarf chain loach dead in the solution. I never saw the base of this one in the video, is there any way a fish could get inside it?

@@TrafishAquatics brilliant thanks for that, I'll change over to this type. Other than bettas which are absolutely safe with the normal drop checkers, I pretty much keep only nano fish, so this apparently unheard of situation is just not a risk worth taking.

Anybody have there solution leak out like the rubber ring wasn't good enough seal lost most of mine within 5 min. Maybe just a bad kit?

I also have what is probably a silly question. Is the water supposed to go up and into the solution or should there be an air bubble at the bottom?

I just bought this and the fluval co2 45 kit. I only have 10 gallon with little bit of dwarf hair grass and some crypts.would 1 bubble every three secs work? I’m scared of messing up. Also learning to have it off at night.also would the plants die or get used to co2? Like what if I can’t keep getting these co2 bottles.would plants live still on its own or what?

Yep they would be ok without it, most aquarium plants don't need added CO2 to grow well, adding c02 just helps them grow faster.

@@TrafishAquatics ok thanks and if u have any recommendations for better co2 kits or products to get please share a video I want to learn from this fluval kit then move to a bigger product for a 55 gallon tank or so. Also let’s say I have a huge bottle of co2 like 5 times bigger than the 45 g kit has.does it matter? Since it’s still be one bubble 3 seconds but it’ll last a lot longer than the tiny bottle or no?

Mine doesn't change, just stays blue. Turned up the CO2 even more and all the fish started gasping for air but the Drop checker still stayed Blue.

Ok now I’m noticing plants maybe stalling or I’m to impatient but it did make me think of the co2 bubbles that are in the tank.I have a sponge filter and has small flow.the bubbles that come out in the diffuser are only going straight up.is that ok or does the bubbles that come out of the diffuser suppose to spread all over the tank? Meaning I need a hang on the back filter to spread the tiny bubbles everywhere?

If you can get them to spread around it'll diffuse more of the co2 before it can escape the water

I cant get this thing to change from anything else but blue... Even leaving CO2 at 10 bubbles a second for 4 hours. The PH isn't changing either so i dont know what I'm doing wrong. I've had CO2 and this indicator in my 150 gallon for 3.5 weeks so far and it's just been a solid blue the entire time no matter what i try.

I realize this may seem idiotic to many... but I just put this in my 36 gal freshwater aquarium and don't understand if the plus means there is enough CO2 or that I need to add CO2. Does the minus mean I don't have enough CO2 or that I don't need to add CO2? Apologies. This is probably obvious to everyone else.

- (blue) mean’s low co2 Circle in the middle(Green) means perfect. + (yellow) means high co2 I bet you missed understanding the green in the middle. I did the same when I first opened it. Was frustrated I didn’t understand right away 😂. Shouldn’t have been as confusing as it was. But, alas, tricked again! Brains are silly.

Ok I set this up but shows it’s still blue.maybe light blue? But I have co2 running an hour early before lights come on.it’s 1 bubble every 2-3 seconds in a 10 gallon tank with couple dwarf hair grass and crypts. Is that a good or bad sign that the co2 checker thingy is blue to light blue? Because what if it can’t read the co2 because the plants are taking it. Or do I have to pump a little more co2?

If it's showing blue that means you're not oversaturating with CO2, When it turns green that's what they would consider an ideal level, And if it turns yellow that's considered too much CO2. Chances are even if it's blue it's still probably putting enough CO2 for the plants you have

Separating it is more for dumping the old checker fluid out

Don't put the drop checker at the top. C02 Bubbles will rise to the top where the drop checker is and will cause incorrect results as co2 will be lower than actually is. For example you could have optimal co2 level but when at top it may read as high c02 level. Must put it at bottom of tank away from co2 diffuser for best results.

@@TrafishAquatics Im using a glass drop checker filled half way with the fluvial co2 solution and running 6 bubbles per minute from a co2 reactor and Im still yet to see the colour change from dark blue... I have no idea what Im doing wrong cos Ive even moved the drop checker and co2 diffuser to a part of tank with more flow

@@JadeWinters02 I had the same thing 2 bubbles per second, running it for 2 days now and its still BLUE!!!! Getting another type of drop checker. This one goes straight to GARBAGE.

Checker can take 2 hours to adjust, I'm running my CO2 quite fast and it's still blue as well, may be due to surface agetation gassing off the excess c02

@@TrafishAquatics tbh I dont think that would matter as much in my case as I have the diffuser right under the output for the return pump so the bubbles rise then get blown back down in all other directions of the tank... I think it may be my diffuser but not sure yet
