i agree, what is geosmin? i guess some kind of parasite? i have eaten some of the catches but didnt notice anything wrong luckily . tasted amazing

@@Fishingletsgo Geosmin a collective name for bacteria that gives off an "earthy" flavor. I read somewhere that the water needs to have a specific algea bloom ongoing in order to produce this bacteria in the water/lake. It is totally harmless but not very good tasting.

Interesting thanks for the info! I smoked my fish and used a lot spices on another fish. Maybe that is why I didn’t notice it 🤔

@@Fishingletsgo That was exactly what i did with my fish, i cured it in salt and smoked it, it did not tasty "funny" at all, but then i just simply fried a fillet and it was not edible. Sadly a lot of meat went to waste :(
