That was my first time fishing the Nantahala. I have driven by it several times but now I wish I had stopped and fished it. Glad you enjoyed it.

You killed it....tons of trout! Great area of WNC. Nice you met Carson and his Dad.

Carson seems like a cool kid. He did pretty well out there and he was following 5 mediocre fisherman. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Greg. I look forward to that trip every year. We usually don’t catch that many fish.

@@GoodBuddyFlyFishing I was up in Boone this last fall, but my guided day on the water got rained out. A deluge! Of course, two days later it was beautiful, but wasn't able to fish. Ah well, I'll be back...

I bet you met Carson didn't you? I know he was just down there fishing for the competition. And, now that I hear you mention his name you did lol! Too funny, what are the odds. He is a great angler and the family are good people. Small world out there! Nice video, congrats on the success you had, and don't sleep on the mop!
@GoodBuddyFlyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it was Carson. I couldn’t remember his name but at least I remembered his KZfaq channel. Some of my best days have been during a mop hatch 😜

Thanks so much Mike! It truly is a small world. I had no idea that I was going to run into Jon and see Steve and team fishing the Upper Nantahala. What are the chances? So great to meet up! -Carson

What size rod and what nymphs were you using?

Jon, it was a pleasure to run into you on the Upper Nantahala last Thursday. Great to hear that you picked up some fish on the mop. Like you, Steve, and team we caught a ton of fish. Great fishing day rain or no rain. Had a great time competing over the weekend for the US Youth National Fly Fishing Championships and so honored to have been selected to be on the team for the 2021-2022 season. We got a lot of footage on the Nantahala, Davidson, and during the competition. Can't wait to get the videos posted on our KZfaq Channel. Thank you for all the support and the shout out in your video. Keep in touch and tight lines! -Carson

It was a great fish. I would've been a little more upset if he didn't leave me a bunch of fish. I ended the day pretty satisfied. Thanks for watching.

Ha! Ben does butt hook a lot of fish. Stay huge!
@GoodBuddyFlyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I try to stay huge but I may have lost my huge card by saying Brookie way too many times.
@CatchReleaseRepeat2 жыл бұрын
In that case, I'm not sure I ever had a huge card. Those were some gorgeous brookies!
