The V&T Railroad tourist train is being pulled by steam locomotive #29, the Robert C. Gray. We see it in the steep curve around the Gold Hill depot. The train runs daily from Virginia City to Gold Hill, see www.virginiatr... for details.
Shot ‪@VirginiaTruckeeRailroad‬ May 30, 2022, I had my GoPro setup to get audio near the Gold Hill Depot. I was having a challenging morning, I thought the Carson City train was running on Memorial Day. It wasn't.
This was originally shot in 4K dlog format, because I'm on the road I can't edit 4K video so I posted this HD version instead.

Would be cool if they could reopen the tunnel there in gold hill

Tunnel #3 is pretty hopeless. A fair portion of it is already collapsed onto itself, and what remains is so unstable that it would never be safe. That is why they built the shoo-fly around it. Tunnel #4 is intact and all of the V&T trains run through it. The tunnel I'd like to see re-opened is #6 under St. Mary's in downtown VC. That would be very cool. There is a painting out there which depicts V&T#11 pulling a passenger train out of the north portal #6 in winter. I hope I live to see the day when that scene can be re-created.
