Jim, I'm an old Marine vet, I started fly tying and fly fishing to help cope with my PTSD. Thanks for sharing these great videos, don't ever stop!

Enjoyed watching that.....great pattern. Will def give that one a go and perhaps try it in all green and brown variations. Many thanks for sharing that.

Hi Steve, I used my Deer Creek Diamond Fine to lacquer the wing. If you use head cement you may want to do both sides. I just did one side with the UV. Jim

Nice pattern, Jim, looks like it will hold up to abuse, too. This gives me ideas for a new take on a Muddler.

Nice fly. Looks easy to tie.

I saw one similar to this and used it as an example for mine. Davie does tie a nice cricket. I try to keep things simple for my videos. I tie one like Davie's with foam also. He uses knotted turkey biots because they are long & can be knotted easier than goose or duck.

Thank you for sharing Jim. Tying cricket flies is a totally new world for me. I am trying it for skill development. Are they very productive to catch bass or bluegills?

I would have to say yes on both counts, but I spend most of my time on the trout stream.

Hey Jim, great imitation, is this your own creation. The only one I have see that is more realistic is by Davie McPhail. I tied his, it involves foam and knotted turkey biots which I found too challenging and just went with knotted pheasant tail in black. Came out nice. I am going to tie this one as well. Thanks for all your hard work. All the best Sean

Hi I didn't use black it appears black from the UV Resin I used to stiffen it up. We have the eastern turkey here they are almost to the point of being pests there are so many. The tail is just molted brown.

Hey Jim ! Where do you get black Turkey tail ? In my part of the country ( Colorado ) the wild turkeys are either Rio Grande or Miriam both of which have tan and brown mottled tail feathers.
