Just beautiful! Have you tried a modern take on the Butcher or an Alexander using resin to shape the body? They were my dad's favourite wet flies

This is an awesome tying mak, could I use the uv resin instead of the varnish or will it discolor as it sets? Going to give this one a whirl. Quality fly again Mak.

Its actually Antron Body Yarn. You can buy that from any fly fishing shop or ebay.

Which brand Varnish do you use for this presentation ?? I purchase all my Varnish from the UK, Scotland to be specific but i have nothing as thick as this. UV has its place, just not here. Thanks

Hi Any Varnish will go thicker after lots of use, or speed it up by leaving the lid off for a while ( keep on checking ). Thanks mak

Mak, I love your videos but on this one what is the white body you call "yarn" Sadly most tying shops have closed here as the fishery for the mighty Atlantic Salmon dies. Is this "yarn" like my grandmothers knitted sweaters with in the 30s 40s and 50s? I suspect that it is a different thing. We have different names on either side of the Atlantic. Would like clarifcation as to the material. Here, "yarn is a very fussy broad material", quite different from what you filmed. BTW..Keep up the great patterns !!eventhere is some language differences in the different types of english
