Fly Tying The Two Tone Hare's Ear

A standard Hare's Ear is all very well, but this thing with it's dual tones really sets it apart for small water and reservoir trout!
A great fly for fishing at the back end of the season!

the hares ear is my nemesis..... i think i caught one fish in the 90s on rutland on it, a few here at home at crtain times of the year and a few on the river, apart from that....................i cannot get it working..lol.. will tie this as always

Get a norvise

I’m sorry but I disagree. I’ve had a Norvise for years. They’re expensive, and you can spend a lot of time fiddling with the bobbins, and automatic bobbin holder. In my view, the Norvise is best for the commercial tyer that requires the speed and unique function of the rotary feature .

very nice! If it's tied with Squirrel why call it a Hares Ear? Surely Secret Squirrel would be better, and more explanative?
