Love this fly. I tie a slight variation with one set of legs and 2 strips of foam. Fish love it.

Thanks Cheech! Would this be a good imitation of the Brood X cicada? Haven't tried my hand at these foam hopper type patterns yet and want to be ready for the cicadas' arrival here in southcentral Pennsylvania.

I have a heck of a time with ice dubbing. Struggling to get it onto the thread somewhat tight. Do you use wax, wet your fingers or ?

When dubbing use a small small small amount, like a wisp, and have a longer thin dubbing noodle rather than a shorter thick one.
