@@supertjss1328 I see it this way as well. Seems the 3rd focus dog (didn't catch the name) is just not as quick as Nova, Hustle and Panic. So Nova looks like a race car next to a bus, while Hustle and Panic are two bullets side by side.

Not whippets, they’re lurchers. The announcer states that. Lurchers are a crossbred with sight hound (greyhound, whippets, etc) and a terrier, border collie, or even bull bred. Most are multi generation crosses but the sight hound always is the dominant cross

andyjg13 training a whippet is difficult and they aren’t intelligent dogs like the border collie or the poodle , that’s why ppl don’t have many whippets on their team .... the chances of things going wrong is high !!! So u got to appreciate the talent and hard work that went into building the team

You would be surprised. Dogs allowed to play and roam learn the difference between indoor and outdoor and many will see no need to running around indoors.

Those border collies where going against lurchers that were part border Collie. If they where pure whippet they would have no chance against pure border collies! Mixed breeds are the best at sled dog races too. It’s all about genetic variation.

Faith Killick Border collies have different characteristics than other breeds. They would rather play or work than eat. They don’t get tired as fast as other dogs. They can stop and go on a dime. They reach top speed faster than other breeds. they look at you for direction and at the same time are so much more focused than any other breeds. Breeds in the competitive sight hound racing industry have unusual characteristics as well...Whippets produce very low myostatin hormone levels. In layman’s terms that means they grow big strong muscles. Whippets have arched back’s that are very flexible. Also whippets have large lung and heart capacity. So on a straight away with no twists and turns the sight hound breeds are the fastest by a mile. At the end of the day when you mix these great breeds together you get heterosis. because they’ve had a completely different ancestors and abilities for hundreds of years. That just means crossbreed vigor. I think most people think when you crossbreed a dog you get half the ability of each dog. That is actually not true most of the time. In actually fact these dogs will be stronger healthier more athletic and smarter. It’s almost like the whippet/border collies are 75%whippet and 75% border collie. Which is perfect for fly ball lure coursing and agility:)
