Stutters increased dramatically for me. Found out that the update returned my usercfg file to default! Went back and turned off film grain and fringe again. Stutters gone.

My problem ended up being something entirely different. won’t apply in your case unless you’re running one of amd’s new 3d vcache cpus. Core parking wasn’t functioning properly anymore, fixed it, problem finally solved.

I experienced the opposite. Performance got better for me with SU12 on i5-8400F, RX6600 and 16GB of RAM.

Disc Clean-up, tick/check DirectX Shader Cache, delete. It worked for me and is smooth again

Been doing the same for each of these update comparison videos - my system is also extremely outdated, but it's apparent that the performance has objectively decreased - maybe not on all systems, but definitely on mine at least. @@FlyBySimulations I have AMD 5600x and old 1070, 8gb graphics card. All set on high end + ultra volumetric clouds. In PMDG Im getting 30+ ( smooth ) fps aound EGLL.. But I agree with you. Update 12 is causing a lots of problems.

With a very modest set up 9th generation i5, RTX 3060 and 32gb RAM I find the sim very smooth at a locked 35fps.Just the occasional micro stutters at big airports.I use the PMDG 737 series and realtime weather.The latest update hasn't changed a thing

That's usually how it goes though mate, as unfortunate as it is. People have to go try and solve their own individual problems depending on what's plaguing them first. Hopefully this gets resolved in the future.

Performance for me is about the same or maybe slightly smoother with lower framerate. I have just noticed some annoying bugs for me. Ai traffic overshooting runways with a lot of go arounds and my plane is spawning in the wrong location either at a different runway or different gate and not the one that is assigned. If these bugs get resolved then I would be happy with the update I think.

Yes! This is exactly the same Im experiencing. Lower fps and more stutterts with SU12😢 Especially at low altitudes and on the ground. And Im on rtx 4080

I reset all my graphics settings to min and started the readjustment process with 30fps as my target. I do wish they had the settings more organized and descriptions improved. I had catagories like must have for general look, what see afar, shadows, highlights, clouds, terrain. Wasn't too bad to do.

I agree 100%!!! Things have changed a bit, IMHO!!! Stuttering(although not a HEAVY HIT), but STILL noticeable. Also, before Update12, I NEVER had a "BUG" problem with ATC chatter...NOW I DO 🤔🙄🤔 Any idea about that issue?

I have a Ryzen 5 5800X3D with 64 Gig of DDR-4 ram with a RXT 4090 and I have had nothing but problems with SU-12. Quite often I will load into a flight and the FPS is so low I can't play, I have to restart the sim multiple times. In SU-11 I was averaging 100 FPS and seeing FPS as high as 170FPS in rural areas. I am seeing 70-80 FPS now. One thing I have noticed if I fly in New Zealand I am getting 140FPS consistently. So in the new areas the sim is performing excellent. In older areas not so much.

I've just ordered a system with an RTX 4090 and an i9-13900K myself, and it's a little worrying this is the issue many are having with such high-end systems. Hopefully it gets fixed before my system gets here...

@@FlyBySimulations I had a flight from KBWI to somewhere near Boston it was about 260 miles. FPS at KBWI was about 8 but I managed to get airborne and auto pilot set up. I put all my setting to low end and about 2/3 of the way through the flight the FPS jumped and went back up to 80+. I was able to go back to ultra setting and complete the rest of the flight silky smooth. Also as an FYI I did a full uninstall of the game and I physically deleted my rolling cache file and did a fresh install but it did not help at all.

Now my Fenix A320 is broken. Windows 10 recognizes the TCA-Q with no problem. Msfs 2020 won't move the throttles or release the handbrake using the TCA-Q or the mouse. Graphics and loading time have improved..

Almost every time I run the sim, I have to unplug and plug my TCA throttle back, or the throttles get stuck in reverse. I’m glad I’m not alone in controller issues

My Fenix and Leonardo is broken , flybywire and headwind don't respond to power and are dead. But fenix actually stared to loose function of EFB after a windows update en mid March

i got improved performance with SU12 and my PC runs the game better than ever with my less than ideal setup which is a Alienware Alpha R2 with 6th gen Intel Core i7-6700T, MSI Ventus XS OC GTX 1660 ti installed in a 4x PCIe 3.0 Alienware Graphic Amplifier eGPU enclosure, 1 Samsung 16gb DDR4 2133Mhz SODIMM in SINGLE CHANNEL and a 1 TB Samsung 860 QVO SATA SSD in AHCI mode.

Just as a sidenote to those of you who don't know; some addons like pacx/self-loading-cargo use fsuipc and many issues caused in SU12 has to do with those addons packaged with an older version of fsuipc without an easy way to update it as it's not the standalone fsuipc. Fsuipc on its own needs to be updated if you have that because the older update is causing most of the performance loss you might experience. Then there's another culprit, graphics card drivers... Nvidia users; don't use any of the 531.xx drivers, AMD users; don't use updates dated after 31st of january yet (as of 8th april 2023) unless you are willing to experiment. Another thing that might be less popular is that it's simply a handling error. Users like me got increased performance as well my customers who I build and maintain for simply because they are not "savvy" enough.

11 was fairly stable for me after suffering intolerable CTDs ever since WU5 and NOW, since updating to 12, we're back to the CTD issue again. SHEET!!!!

I have a i7 10700k 3070ti and 128GB of RAM. I fly the PMDG with some custom scenery airport and my FPS are really bad at times and I have stutters while taxiing.

I do not experience significant difference from before SU12, if anything I would say it's better in most ways. But as before I feel it may vary from day to day. Some days are buttery smooth, other days stutters and fps drops. I'm not sure whether it's system or server related. That said I'm mostly satisfied with what I get out of my older pc.

I’ve had a performance hit on the PMDG 737s, stuttering and pauses at lower altitudes, specifically long pauses on landing. Ironically aircraft like the Fenix A320 and iniBuilds A310 that are typically harder on frame rates are fine?

I wonder if the sim update 12 issues experienced by users are a result of the kb5023706 windows update which is documented to cause performance problems including system performance and ssd performance. I removed that windows update and I find overall better performance from sim update 12 as opposed to sim update 11. my system is also a dedicated msfs system.

I feel like I had better fps in Su11 than SU12.. Microsoft and Asobo cant seem to figure out how to run a game!! But when u flew into midway, u can tell a BIG difference in FPS

I would say SUXII has been significantly better for my system. I was able to push most graphic settings to ultra, with a few exceptions such like reflections or terrain shadows which I set to med-high. DirectX 12 (beta) also runs much more stable than before, and also DLSS and DLAA performance are much improved, I’m used to running all my game at native res (TAA) but I’m using now DLAA to relieve some load on the system and I’m still flying with tremendous quality and stability. About the same framerates if not better, but again, less stuttering overall.

My frame rates took a hit and stuttering went from almost none to flatout annoying! I did a lot of tinkering including trying things that never helped before. I have a RTX 3080ti, so I tried using DLSS and DX12. Neither of these had benefited me in the past; now I find DLSS substantially improves my fps but DX12 is still a bust on my system. I have confirmed by flying everything I could with no other add-ons present that some of my add-ons are definitely not getting along with SU12. Running the sim in safe mode is as smooth as butter. It seems that traffic add-ons are a real problem at the moment. At times the navigation data in the sim vanishes if the wrong traffic add-ons are loaded. Some liveries also cause big performance issues now. I am also seeing the problem others have mentioned on long flights where fps and stutters get worse deep into the flight. I tried emptying the rolling cache at that point, and it did help in finishing the flight.

My update 12 lasted about 4 days to be downloaded and installed. I don't know. Maybe my Internet carrier thinks I'm a sucker!. My experience has been good! Fewer stutters, Not so bad frame rates. I've noticed that the usual aberration of sun shadows, mainly inside cockpit ) with the good- but- not-so-good power of my Video Card they looked burry, bad defined and ugly. today they look way much better with the same video card. Hope no bad news news next!!

Better in rural areas, but heavily dense urban areas are worse, almost unflyable. I must now unfortunately avoid large addon cities.

Thank you so much for the gesture Harsh, but I think it’ll be fine. I did read their article directly in my video but had no idea it was a copyright violation to do so. Unfortunately, it also involved some other videos on the channel that I had to take down as a result of copyright issues. Once again, I had no idea I was the in the wrong and would have never done it in the first place if I thought I was. However, as the consequences involved my KZfaq channel being in jeopardy, I decided against disputing the matter and simply took the videos down. I would therefore appreciate it if you don’t reach out to them and ask them about this issue, as I’ve put it to bed and would like it to not resurface again for no reason. running a gtx 1060 and prior to the update I had the sim running smooth just on Medium settings an Now its unplayable stutters an crashing I reinstalled and still runs like crap haven't been on the sim since the update sucks but guess ill have to upgrade my pc

SU12 is smooth as butter. 90% of the people reporting stutters just need to delete rolling cache and problem is solved.

Not only that it’s was a bunch of us getting CTD’a and Graphics overclock,overheat warnings. This and the new Nvidia update was basically handicapping us

That update was a mess. My load time (I don't have an SSD) increased to 17 minutes. I get more hard stutters. The sim no longer switches the sound to my headset if I plug the headset in, even though in Windows the switch from default speakers to headset is recognized. Also when starting a flight, the flight begins to load and after 15 seconds of loading the game becomes unresponsive. To be honest, I don't want to play it anymore. I'm tired of looking at the load screens. As an experiment I removed my community folder to see if load times improved. They did by about a minute so not much. I then tried to delete things in the game via the content manager. That made no difference. If I load the game in safe mode however the load times are acceptable but I paid a lot of money for these add ons plus the load times before the update were acceptable. I hate the sim updates. They always seem to break something. I wish they would just stop mucking about with it.

I think it has nothing to do with ssd or hdd. I have a ssd and the loading time since the SU12 is now around 17 - 18 minutes. Before 9 - 10 minutes...

Unfortunate to hear mate, but you're not the only one for sure. Hopefully the push out fixes to help the rest of the community. It really does suck that you've paid so much money on these add-ons and the sim itself and you're suffering with these problems. I really hope there's a fix that can help you get back to MSFS...

Delete rolling cache. The sim trying to use old cache data on new terrain generation causes stuttering.

For me it was. FPS was 45 before update, is now 11 after update. Clouds look like sh... now. Graphics drivers are updated already. Also my loved A310 was fu... up and I had to delete and reinstall it. Worst update ever for me.

i fixed my stutter problems with updating fsuipc to the latest version and a change in the fsuipc.ini file by adding a line the developer suggested. all stutters gone. this was definitely the culprit for me. however the fps degradation over sim running time is still there.

So worse FPS for sure with this update. Not surprising. MSFS has only got downhill since it was first released. Every update has made it worse, and I have genuinely seen not a single improvement in an update. Sure there will be some niche ones. But nothing I have noticed. Only worse graphics and lower performance. Also not sure if it’s how you recorded it but the SU12 colours look much colder. But even the FPS dev mode window is a different colour on both so probably how you recorded it, as I can’t imagine they changed the colours of that in the update.

The latest update has taken the buggiest computer program I've ever experienced (in 40 years of 'flying' the MS product) to a new low. It's time to give X-Plane 12 a shot!
