In Europe you can already fly alone with the age of 14 and get your glider licence with 16. It should be your reality soon, not only your dream ;)

I was 15 when I had my first sailplane lessons. Still the best aviation experience. Helos, LSA, ultralights, GA….they’re all amazing but soaring is the best

Same for me. I’ve only ever seen gliders flying around parts of Europe and I thought this method of flight would be a bit more fun because of the science behind it. I have never seen any gliders above the U.S. before now, so my hopes are up, and I’m going to a flight simulator in about ten days, so I ought to learn something

That was fantastic! What a fun flight to watch. I can't believe you came and flew in my backyard and we didn't get to fly together!!! :( I heard a rumor that you might be coming back. I sure hope you can make it to Nephi again and we can fly together finally! I am headed over to Switzerland for the first two weeks of July 2023. Planning on flying an Arcus for a few days at least out of Sisteron. Any chance you can join us? Cheers, Bruno

Great flight over one of the great soaring playgrounds in the U.S. It has been almost 30 years since I flew the first 1000K in Utah, going from Parowan, Payson, Brian's Head, Nephi, Parowan in a standard class Pegasus. Of course on that day you could have flown the proverbial "barn door" and my high band was usually between 15-17999 K. Fun place

We carry a set of snow chains in our trailer. Most automatic airport gates have a metal sensor on the inside to detect cars and open the gate. You can throw the chains onto the detector to open the gate. Nice day, be sure to come back and visit again.

Hahah, great idea. We were really struggling hard on getting into the airport by trailer. Luckily an older guy passed by in his car and knew someone who had the keys. I´m sure I will come back at some point.

Hay Stefan- glad to see you soaring in the US!. Wasn't sure you would bother but from the videos looks like it's worth gliding here. I've always wanted to glide since I took a demo ride for my birthday back in 2000. I Lived in Santa Barbara and took a bunch of paragliding lessons to get in the air. I'm thinking of gliders again and wondering if you could review your USA trip by best area or most difficult for experienced or new pilot - just your impressions and critique as a european pilot. Im in the bay area (San Francisco) I see there is a school north east a little bit without going all the way up to Tahoe. That would probably be the one. -all the best and thank you for your work -MD

Great flight Stephan. Just to add a few details to your video. 5:07 is Delano Peak 12174' in the Tusher Mountains above Beaver, UT 5:35 is Parowan airport. The gateway airport to soar Southern UT and Northern AZ and the mighty 5. From here you can soar Zion NP, Brice Canyon NP, Canyon Lands NP, Arches NP, and Grand Canyon NP. 5:50 is Cedar Breaks NM 6:57 is Ceder City airport 7:13 is Kolob canyon and Zion canyon in the distance. Both are in Zion NP. Please come visit us again in the Western States of America.

I had to laugh when your Oudie Mount fell off and you could use both hands to replace it. The same thing happened to me last week but my Ventus 1A is much less forgiving and I had to reattach the Oudie with one hand 🥴.
